We specialize in teaching couples and singles to dance the most popular and enduring dance styles such as Swing, Salsa, Tango and Waltz to name a few. We teach tailored programs to meet your interests and busy schedules. A: Typically, we recommend ladies wear a short comfortable heel and men wear a comfortable light dress shoe - It's best to have a shoe with a smoother sole on the bottom. Our policy asks for no flip flops or bare feet while out on the dance floor. A: The wonderful thing about being a student at Arthur Murray is you create a program tailored for your goals.
Our foundation program is our most popular and recommended way to jumpstart your learning. On your discovery program you will learn the basics of the six main ballroom dances. Our Medalist program offers advanced learning materials integrated with personalized lesson plans for long term students. This program is designed for those getting married or those dancing at a wedding.

Great for helping with our first dance at our wedding!
My now husband and I were set on taking dance lessons to help prep for our first dance. We mainly chose Arthur Murray because it was local and I have been there before, but we were pleased with lots of other perks!
First and foremost our instructor was the BEST ever - Sarafina :)) She was so patient and sweet, which made our lessons very enjoyable! She had tons of great tips and advice, and we loved her choreography.
We decided on the six class package, which was enough to learn a full dance, alter it, and practice until it was perfect!

If you want someone who cares about what you want and how you'll do, Arthur Murray won't be there for you. They're very corporate. Get in, get out, so they can get the our money. Our lessons ended months before our wedding but because we decided not to pay for anymore lessons, they never checked in to see how we did. They made us a short little dance but never really asked if we liked it but just taught it during our lessons and used up all the lessons that we had to buy more. It's very unfortunate because we spent A LOT of money to get it perfect for our big day but it was

The teachers are great. The people learning dancing are great. In addition to private lessons there are nightly group session where specific dances are taught. Twice a week there are practice parties for social dancing and to practice waltzes, foxtrot, swing, hustle, salsa, cha cha, and a bunch of others. Arthur Murray at Monterey offers an intense and professional program that is fun and great exercise. Give it a try.

Learning to ballroom dance was a bucket list item for me. I’m so happy I took the plunge. Having a blast, making new friends and learning all of the great dances offered. The staff are warm and welcoming. There are so many opportunities to do other things too—performances, workshops, etc. Give it a try!

We have really been enjoying dancing at this beautiful studio! The instructors are always friendly, welcoming, encouraging, and patient. The classes they offer 5 nights a week and the 2 practice dance parties really support the deepening of our learning and are nice ways to practice with the other students!

This place is fabulous! My husband and I went here to learn a salsa dance to perform at our wedding, and Emma did an amazing job teaching us the basic steps and then progressing to more advanced techniques and ultimately choreographing a hit dance routine that literally had multiple guests saying they felt like they were watching dancing with the stars! Neither of us had any formal dance training experience, so those comments meant a lot! The studio also offers great group classes that we attended to help keep our skills up between private lessons. My husband and I found Arthur Murray Dance studio through family recommending we try them out for wedding dance lessons. We were getting married in August of 2019 and went to a first free class in March. We met our instructor named Emma and she was really nice and great at teaching the basics. We are both beginners in dancing so we weren't sure what to expect. We met with Emma 3-4 times before our August wedding date to learn our first dance song. One of the best studios I have seen with new floors, spacious, with very nice lounge and very cozy for individuals and families. The free trolly to the Cannery Row makes it extra especial: a two block walk to the trolly station and a 10 minute ride to it for relaxing ending of the day with your feet in the ocean after a dance lesson, is something not to be missed in. We had taken lessons at a different AM location for our wedding, but moved to CA shortly afterwards and decided to keep dancing. For many years, I have always wanted to take private dance lessons. Not only have I taken lessons, but I have been a student at Arthur Murray Millbrae for one year now. It's something I can check off my bucket list, but it's also been one of the best investments I have made for myself. The location is ideal but more importantly, the dancing I continue to learn and enjoy, and the community I am a part of, have been a huge reason as to why I love coming here. Everybody at the dance studio is friendly and always excited to see you and very encouraging, not just the other instructors but the other dance students too. It's an amazing place to spend time and learn to dance. I would highly recommend all the instructors, we have had additional lessons with several other instructors and they are all amazing.

Me and my husband took dance lessons here for our first dance at our wedding. We picked Ed Sheeran - Perfect as our first dance song, but had no idea how to dance to it. Thankfully, our dance instructor Rhenell knew immediately what technique was perfect for us. Before these lessons, I didn't know how to dance whatsoever, haha. After the lessons, I was confident enough to do our first dance in front of everyone at our wedding without falling. Yay!

Being a teenager in the 70's... the only "dancing" I was familiar with was bouncing around to rock'n'roll... ballroom dancing (waltz, rumba, tango, foxtrot, etc...) were not in my purview at all... and I consistently put off my wife's requests to take her dancing for 20+ years. And then she noticed the Arthur Murray Dance Studio in Milbrae and I couldn't put it off any longer.

I paid the the $1200 for 10 sessions (super expensive) but I LOVED every session.
I lee armed to tango, quick step, waltz, fox trot, salsa, cha cha and rhumba. My favorite was the tango. I couldn't stop making "tango face"! My instructor, Mike, was awesome. He was patient with me and all my questions. He was such a great lead.

You get what you pay for in life, and Arthur Murray is no different. We took advantage of the complimentary dance consult/lesson for our first dance at our wedding. We were partnered with Rhenell as our instructor. We fell in love with her enthusiastic, humorous, edgy style and she's incredibly talented just like all the instructors at Arthur Murray. In fact, whenever you enter the studio you're greeted with smiles by the instructors and by the owners (Jenny and CJ). It's a great atmosphere.

Love this dance studio!!! The instructors are very courteous and professional, and the classes are tons of fun. I have been going since they opened. It is a great workout, and it is so much more fun than going to the gym. ( I can wear high heels now. I guess dancing made my feet stronger!)
Also, I love when the instructors dance for us. It is like being in the audience of "Dancing with the Stars". They are that good!
