Shasta Pines Motel & Suites
Join us at our motel in Burney, Shasta Pines Motel & Suites. We are the only AAA "Two Diamond " approved motel in the area with new modern designed two story suites building. Shasta Pines Motel has 16 recently renovated rooms, all located on the ground floor, and 14 modern designed luxury suites with King Suites, all located upstairs, and 2 Queen Bed Suites, all located downstairs.

We take great pride in having a clean facility and friendly helpful staff in Burney. Located between Mt. Shasta to the north and Mt. Lassen to the south lies Burney and beautiful Fall river valley. The area is home to abundant wildlife, produces diverse agricultural products, has countless recreational opportunities and supports a community that offers small town comforts.
Services
Located approximately 18 miles from Fall River Mills on Highway 89, the park offers swimming and boating on Lake Britton, picnic grounds, and camping sites. The breathtaking Burney Falls are 129 feet high and surrounded by a self-guided nature trail. Smaller picturesque falls are located throughout the area.
Located just 50 miles northeast of Redding on Highway 299 east. Burney is nestled at the base of Burney Mountain, which is at the northern tip of the Sierra Mountain Range. The area surrounding Burney offers a host of activities: fishing, hunting, water skiing, swimming, kayaking, rafting, camping, hiking, site seeing, hang gliding, golfing, picnicking, winter sports, and Indian gaming.
We didn't have a place to stay after hiking all day and really needed a hot meal, a cheap cocktail and a soft bed. We decided on Shasta Pines because of it being a AAA motel and it looked ok from the road. The room was very clean and the host welcoming and kind. PLUS there was the Outlook Steakhouse and Cocktail lounge right next door!

Drop by to get my son and his girlfriend a room and what a nice man who checked them in. Now this is what hospitality means. So helpful and kind. They ended up staying an extra day. So many motels and hotels forget what they are doing in business. They stayed in the older part of the place and it was clean and smelled great. I'm sure that when they need to stay in Burney this is where they'll be staying. 👍😁💗

Aug 8th, single room one night. Weve been staying here for over a decade. we've always been very happy until recenyly. We didnt have a table in our room like usual. makes it really hard to eat or work. all the PG&E trucks are getting old. they are very noisy diesel engines, when the start up leave at 5 am its ridiculous. also the air conditioner sucks thevdiesel gas smell right into the room, not pleasant. those noisy people need to be kept at the opposite end of the complex. thie trucks have been ongoing for fir abour 4-5 years now. We'll be staying elsewhere from now on. Sorry

Stayed her for one night while we visited Burney Falls. Room was clean and had all the basic necessities for a short stay. Dierdre at the front desk made the experience so warm and welcoming. She is amazing!

This place was okay.
The guy at the desk was nice but when we got our room, the card to open it wouldn't work so he had to get a key for us.
Also the phone didn't work and I turned on the heater only for it to set off the fire alarm. We called the front desk on our cellphones and he just told us to fan the smoke alarm until it went away. After it didn't go away, we called the front desk again and two people came to help us. No offense but they looked very unprofessional and they didn't really say anything to us; they just walked straight into our room and stood on our chair

You get what you pay for (no offense to motels as a category), but on a holiday weekend where you charge $100+ per night, you expect some basic cleaning routine to be executed for guests.

Issue 1: Bait and switch on B00king website -- the website clearly has photos of the newer wing that was added to the motel and not of the older wing. I had booked with the request to have a room in the newer wing and got a confirmation that I would receive the newer wing. Upon check-in, I got the unhappy news that "Oh, sorry; the entire new wing got booked up".

Issue 2: Cleanliness -- sweet J, I

We stayed for 3 days and the room was good. The rooms are small but it worked. It was clean and we got clean towels daily. I would've liked somewhere to hang towels in the bathroom. Nice place overall.

Do NOT stay here. Burney is very small, all motels look about the same and distance shouldn’t be a factor. I highly suggest staying at a different place even if at a slightly higher price. I had the unfortunate experience of booking 4 nights here to get away from the city and I was gone after 3rd nite. Walls are paper thin, to be expected, but… management is gone after 8 pm so if you have loud guests next to you… you will not be able to sleep and it will be up to you to solve the problem. “Guest” next to my room actually works at the hotel and she stayed up with company until 4 am one

There was dried blood or feces on the comforter. I asked for a replacement, and they said they would bring one. They never did. I had to get a refund a sleep in my truck in the freezing cold temperatures. The toilet ran, so I had to shut off the water to have peace and quiet. The tub did not drain. I should have looked at the reviews. The employees smelled like weed, and made several clerical errors. I will never go back, I suggest you don't.

I had a late delivery to Burney and decided not to drive back to Reno. My wife called a couple of different places. The staff here was very polite. The rate quoted was more than reasonable for the short notice. Room was quiet and clean. After a hot shower I slept great. Really liked the pillows and plan on getting a couple, Carisma brand iirc. Another hot shower and in-room coffee and I got a well rested early 08:00 start home. I enjoyed the stay, would stay again if I'm ever in the area and definitely would recommend them.

2 Words - Bed Bugs. The beds were infested with over a dozen bed bugs crawling all over. On top of the bed bug infestation, the restroom had a musky smell to it. Did not feel clean and we couldnt sleep soundly at night due to the bed bugs appearance. Thought to give it a chance due to mixed reviews but I regret it.

Update: Owner was at least kind enough to give full refund of the stay, so I'm boosting it to 2 stars for the honesty.

This place deserves NO STARS but that isn't possible... The man behind the counter was incredibly rude and condescending - he canceled my reservation because he said my credit card was declined (the same credit card I had been using all day without issue). He said he tried to contact me via email and phone - 1) the motel is on a mountain with little to no service, so I did not receive any contact from him; 2) he used the wrong email address (verified by him); 3) he used the wrong phone number (also verified by him - who uses the country code when dialing within the same country??). Worst lodging experience in my life. Motel manager is a hostile, rude man dealing with paying customers in a highly unprofessional manner. Given the choice, cross the street and give your business to one of the other motels in town. Shasta Pines needs to find another manager or the free enterprise system we call capitalism will shutter the business, deservedly.

Ok, so it's not the Hilton, but it is a decent hotel in a very small town. What they lack in amenities they make up for with service and location. As a hiker it was perfect. With no car myself and fresh off the trail, Jessica offered to come pick us up from the trailhead. This is always a welcome and often needed accommodation that hikers greatly appreciate. The location is perfect, close to several restaurants, Rite Aid, Safeway, VFW, and Chevron.

The room was a little "used," but again, it's a $60 hotel in a small town so that's ok with me. The bed was soft and the

Very nice clean and friendly motel in Burney. Nothing fancy but super clean and comfy motel if you are in the area. Nice newish windows to let the breeze in. Their "hot" breakfast is actually 3 different types of breakfast burritos in the reception area as well as coffee. Next time we are in this area we would stay here again.

I loved this place. It was very soothing and comfortable. The bed comforters and pillows were amazing. I haven't had such a good night's sleep in a long time! The place was neat and very clean. The guys were very accommodating to us hikers. They were knowledgable and suggested places to eat. The guys were very nice and sincere. I wish my stay could have been longer but next time I am in town, I am definitely staying there agaun.
Thanks guys for your hospitality.

David and Jerrod were great hosts to welcome us in. They provided some excellent insight into the town of Burney. Since we're hiking and heading out early, we just ate at one of their recommended spots, Art's Outpost, which is right next door. Solid place to dine for dinner or grab some local beer & bar eats. Would definitely come back.

The room was very clean and has a fridge and microwave in it. Ice machine outside.

With the level of service we received, we would gladly stay here the next time we visit Lassen.

I've tried changing my review on this site and I'm not being allowed to for some reason. This place is surely not not deserving of a 5 star.

Yes I'm trying to make sure no one ever stays at this slum lord hotel because they just have no respect for the customer. I'm in the process of having AAA demand that the Shasta hotel game down the sign of AAA because they never ho or the discount. The manager/owners are all full of nasty business practices. I don't allow my business partners and teams to stay at this hotel. We took our money across the street to the Green Gambles
