Looking to book a golf getaway in Northern Michigan? Look no further than Evergreen Resort in Cadillac - voted one of the "best places to play" by Golf Digest. Our resort features two courses: the challenging and stunningly beautiful 18-hole Spruce Course and the more casual nine-hole Norway Course, which is perfect for beginners and those interested in a quick round.
Evergreen Resort began as a humble roadside restaurant in 1949. In the years since, we have evolved into an expansive, four-season resort with two on-site eateries. But one thing hasn't changed since founder Curly McGuire opened his doors: our commitment to making our guests feel like family. Both of our restaurants offer distinctive, seasonal menus that speak to the history of the property and regional character of Northern Michigan.

We were excited to revisit this resort where our son and daughter-in-law got married 4 years ago. While a little further away from where we planned to spend our time, the nostalgia drew us back. Evergreen still offers a beautiful setting and a very helpful and friendly staff (front desk, housekeeping, breakfast/restaurant). However, we were disappointed with some of the elements of our supposedly renovated king room. We remembered the room being a bit dark from our last stay and it still was. But what really stuck out was the very rusty toilet paper holder stand and the wooden bathroom vanity that

Absolute underrated gem. Sure it's a little dated but the pool and hot tub are amazing. I booked a family stay the day my husband and I returned from a romantic night.

Very rundown. Hallway carpets are a stained. Bathroom smelled like someone has used an old mop. Breakfast is “free” but obviously pre made - soggy and salty. No toast offered. Rooms are getting rundown again. This was a nice place back a few years ago when they were doing updates. We will golf Cadillac but stay elsewhere.

Beautiful, well maintained course. Resort is great too. Nice clean rooms. We are traveling with our miniature schnauzer and the dog friendly room is great. 1st floor, right by golf course and dog walk area. Even a feeding bowl and dog bed available in case you forgot yours. Only disappointment is their nice restaurant, Passage North is currently closed except for simple breakfast which is included with room. Having been here many times before, we miss it, but understand with COVID-19, lack of staff and maybe less guests, something has to go. Still a great place! Improved menu at Curley's would

Had a great time. Room was great altho no daily maid service. Their dining/bar was closed for renovations, bummer. The golf course was in good shape and fun to play. Pro shop was excellent and Sherri was quite accommodating.

The resort has gone downhill a bit since our last visit in 2016.
The course is poorly maintained with unrepaired tee boxes and fairways that could almost be called a rough due to the length of grass and the amount of weeds. The bunkers were more of the same with no sign of maintenance as there are weeds are starting to grow in them as well as large rocks hidden beneath the surface.
The greens were probably the best part of the course. They were challenging and relatively well kept. They weren't without their flaws though. The greens did not drain after a standard rain. A couple had large areas

Five stars for the staff. They all were very kind and helpful. The room (king) was comfortable and quiet. The golf course is a different story. The layout is great, but the condition.... horrible! Weeds on the tee boxes and fairways. Dry too. The greens are well maintained. The course does NOT go back to the clubhouse, which we were not advised. They have a "shack" but no one was there, so it's useless. At least the bathrooms were unlocked. Won't be back.
