There is no "right" age for children to begin orthodontic treatment. However, the American Association of Orthodontists recommends visiting the orthodontist around age seven. By this age, most children have a mix of baby teeth and adult teeth, making it easier for an orthodontist to diagnose and correct tooth and jaw problems sooner and without surgery.
Properly taking care of your braces throughout your entire orthodontic treatment is vitally important. When you first get your braces, you may notice that your teeth and mouth feel tender or sore. This is perfectly normal and we promise your mouth will not be sore forever! To ease the pain, we recommend dissolving one teaspoon of salt in eight ounces of lukewarm water.

Dr. DeGuise’s Office was extremely helpful and kind. While on vacation from California, my daughters tooth came out which was attached to her braces. This office got her in the same day we called to fix her braces and would not even allow us to pay them! It is heartwarming to know there are still People and businesses that operate this way in today’s complex world. Thanks again for all of your help...You guys rock!
