At Child and Family EyeCare Center, we understand that even those with 20/20 eyesight can, and often do, suffer from other forms of visual problems. Common visual symptoms that are often overlooked include: headaches, eye strain, double vision, inattention, reading or learning difficulties, motion sickness, and poor peripheral awareness.
These visual concerns are especially prevalent in children, and those who have suffered brain injuries such as concussions, whiplash, and strokes. Our one-on-one approach to optometry allows us to spend ample time with each patient, facilitating the extra testing necessary in order to treat even the most difficult visual problems.

Services
Dr. Michael Cole, OD is a native of Preston, Idaho, and attended Utah State before completing his education at Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN. Dr. Cole and his wife Krystal are the proud parents of three boys and one girl. Dr. Cole is passionate about our beautiful Cache Valley and the people in it; and feels privileged to be a part of the community once again.
In today's society we are consistently progressing in the medical field and the ways that we can help patients. Throughout the years a wide variety of medical problems that were once incurable are now easily diagnosed and treated quicker. One of the most important elements to an individual's life is their vision.
We understand that your first visit to the eye doctor can feel overwhelming and we try to accommodate all new patients with a comfortable and organized facility. Our staff has taken the steps to prepare you for the first appointment by providing a full spectrum of the services we offer and the option to complete our new patient paperwork prior to your visit.
The field of optometry changes quickly, and now many more patients are able to enjoy the flexibility of wearing contact lenses to correct their vision. Contact lens exams include tests that are not always performed in regular eye exams, so if you are considering contact lenses, be sure to let us know when you schedule your exam.
Everyone needs regular eye exams! It's important for adults to schedule eye exams to monitor their eye health and check for problems. Conditions that are often detected during eye exams include glaucoma, macular degeneration, cataracts, and diabetic retinopathy. Early detection of these conditions allows for the widest range of treatment options and the best chance of slowing or reversing any symptoms.

I've gone twice now. I took my 5 year old son for an eye exam and I got an eye exam myself. We were both in and out in about 30 minutes! So refreshing to be seen at my appointment time and to also have all questions answered by the doctor. I didn't feel rushed. I felt it was perfectly efficient and effective. Every staff member was nice and friendly too.

I wish I could give Dr Cole a 10 star review. My daughter was terrified to get an eye test. We had tried another office before and though they were patient and kind, she was too scared to allow them to test her eyes. We made an appointment with Child and Family Eye Care and she struggled to even get into the room she was so scared. Dr. Cole was AMAZING! So patient. He did the test in a different way so that she didn't have to worry about the scary machines and he even sat on the floor to give himself a better angle to see into her eyes because she was too afraid to look up. I am so grateful that

Dr. Cole has a kind a humble demeanor which is very comfortable for children and adults. I am happy with the treatment I received for updated and accurate contact lens and glasses prescriptions, but more remarkably was so pleased with the vision therapy he did my with daughter who had vision problems resulting in reading delays and lack of confidence in school. Within months she was back on track with her vision and then able to catch back up to grade-level reading, which is something we will always be grateful for.

Moving from St. George to Cache Valley, I was stressed about finding new medical providers. We upgraded when it came to finding a new optometrist! We first went to Dr. Cole’s office for an eye injury with one of our boys. My son was 3 and is pretty reserved around people he doesn’t know. Between that and the visit being his first eye exam, I didn’t think he’d make a very good patient. I was quickly put at ease watching Dr Cole interact with him. Dr Cole did such a great job with his exam; my son was super engaged and loved the whole experience. I cannot recommend him enough for kids! I

I wanted to like this place, the doctor is great and the receptionists are nice but I have had to go in so many times to get my sons glasses fixed or adjusted its ridiculous. His lenses popped out again today and we just got them replaced! He wasn't even doing anything crazy and they just fell out. It also felt like they were in a rush to get them fixed, and it wasnt done right. I understand that these things happen but its become too consistent and it was way too expensive to replace the ONE lense the first time (which that lense fell out right after we got home from getting them fixed because

Dr. Cole and his staff are amazing! I’ve been going to his office once a week for about 6 months to correct a double vision problem I’ve had since I was 6. In just 6 months, Dr. Cole and his staff have made more progress with my eyes than any other vision care center I’ve ever been to in the last 20 years, and trust me, I’ve been to A LOT. His staff is kind, caring, and so helpful with everything. They were completely understanding of my time constraints, financial struggles, and sometimes, my lack of discipline in doing my weekly exercises. But they were all more than willing to help work

Dr Cole is a great doctor. He will take the time to make sure you have the right prescription and you are happy with your glasses/contacts. His entire staff is very friendly and will make sure you are taken care of. Would rate higher if Google would let me. Would definitely go again and refer to him again.

My husband and I have never had to have contacts or glasses so when our 6 yr. old daughter had trouble with her eyes it was extremely nice to find a kind, caring office. Dr. Cole was very patient and explained everything to her so she could be comfortable with the testing since she was a little nervous and shy. The office staff is very friendly and took care of us promptly and professionally. We will absolutely continue to get our eye care from this office.
