Services
As a retirement and estate planning firm, Oxford Wealth Advisors specializes in creating comprehensive retirement plans to help lead to a comfortable future. Lynn B. Thurgood CLU, CAS, the founder of Oxford Wealth Advisors, has been in the Financial Services industry for over 35 years serving hundreds of clients throughout the state of New Mexico and the Southwest.
Oxford Wealth Advisors was founded by Lynn B. Thurgood in 1987, when he began serving the public after witnessing his own family struggle financially. Lynn learned a lot through the commitment he made to help his family gain financial independence and he felt strongly about sharing that new found wisdom, that expertise, with those who would listen.
At Oxford Wealth Advisors, we operate based on a fiduciary standard. This standard requires that we act at all times for the sole benefit and interests of our clients, with an ongoing loyalty to only our clients' interests. We believe, that the fiduciary duty is the highest standard of care, and that it is superior to other ordinary business relationships.
Historically, you may have purchased financial or insurance products and then found out how they affected your tax and investment planning later. The correct course of action is to learn the right questions to ask before you buy any financial product or plan for your future.
According to the Oeschsli Institute's survey on affluent investor expectations, consistently their major frustration is that their advisors should be more proactive about future issues that might affect their financial well being. Those concerns are addressed in the logical, proactive approach we take with all our clients.

We like to compare everyone's lifelong financial journey to ascending and descending Mount Everest. Our clients spend the working part of their lives trying to accumulate as much as they can, making their way up the mountain, then spend their retirement years trying to make it last, coming safely down the mountain.

He helped us map out retirement requirements and strategies to get where we needed to be. We have only positive things to say about Lynn and the team at Oxford Wealth. We have only been with Oxford Wealth less than a year. Trusting a wealth advisor with our retirement money (and our financial future) was, quite frankly, a daunting proposition. From the very first meeting we were so comfortable with Lynn and his whole staff. Besides being extremely knowledgeable about investments, his careful and thorough explanations never had us feeling overwhelmed with information. Lynn's mother's motto was " When You Give Out Good, Good Comes Back". Lynn and the Oxford Wealth Advisors team certainly give out good - good advice, good investment information, and good assurance

I went to Mr. Ayers a year ago for Medicare enrollment/supplemental advice. I had a penalty from SS which put a dent in my ability to commit to a supplemental. Mr. Ayers assured me he would go along as my rep if needed. He was also very interested in who I was invested with and would I consider Oxford. When I told him I was comfortable where I was and the day came to accompany me to SS office he refused. I consider a man's word to be his armor. Consider me old fashioned.
