Founded by Harold and Tami Hamby, LaChance Vineyards (pronounced la-shontz) is named in honor of Harold's great-grandfather, Ferdinand 'Zep' LaChance. A poor man of French descent, Zep's good nature and eternal optimism remain a constant source of inspiration to Harold and Tami and their staff. LaChance Vineyards may be Jefferson County's newest winery, but it is also one steeped in a rich family history.

Had dinner and drinks on the patio at the Kimmswick location. Was fairly crowded - but still some open tables available. Shelby was our server and did an outstanding job. Food took awhile, but that's typical at most places lately - not a big deal, relax and have another beer. When food arrived it was hot, delicious, and exactly as ordered. Fish tacos were very good. Chicken cordon bleu was outstanding!! Had seen other relatively recent negative reviews, but we certainly had nothing but a great experience. Go on a night with live music for an added bonus!!

This is a very nice little winery pretty much in the middle of nowhere, south of Hillsboro. The staff was friendly and helpful and surprise!!...the wines were all pretty good. It won't make me forget about my last trip to Napa or anything but we were pretty impressed.
The owners built up a pretty nice facility, which I thin would be excellent for an event especially. They do have food here, which was not clear on their website, so come for lunch.
Also try the sangria if you like sweet and fruity drinks. The peach and strawberry were both very tasty.

Wow, what a great experience. We were on the American Duchess, and were a bit doubtful about a vine tour. We are from the Temecula vine valley and have done multiple vine tours! The did I not only met our expectations but exceeded it. This is a must stop if you are in the area. The food paring was great, the port is excellent!
You will be pleased with your visit!

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. We visited here a few weeks back and I'll never visit again. We were overcharged for our food by $15 and I've left 3 voicemail messages (no one ever answers the phone there) to figure out how to get reimbursed for their mistake and no one responds. It's horrible customer service when the customer is completely ignored. There are at least 2 other wineries in the area and I will be visiting those instead.

Unfortunately I can’t tell you how the wine is… or the food. We called ahead to make sure they were open on July 4th and were told yes “until 6” They never mentioned that the kitchen closed at 4… we figured we would grab some wine and figure out dinner, but the staff was too busy cleaning and talking to each other to get our wine order or talk to us about the selection. After having such a great experience at many other wineries this was sad.

On this fine Friday evening, we sought a little weekending respite from the toils of our labors, finding ourselves in the nicely tucked away gem of Jefferson County, La Chance Vineyards. Having never been here before, we weren't troubled with any challenges finding the place at all.
Parking at the location was ample when we pulled in but noticed that people seemed to filter in at a pretty steady pace after we arrived. Passing through the gates of the vineyard commons, the expanse opened into a scattered but smartly situated arrangement of umbrella-covered picnic benches and leisurely pairings

LaChance is a fabulous place in a beautiful setting with wine that is actually quite good! The dry whites and reds are where I spent my time but I did end up bringing home some of their desert wine, La Trop, as well. There is ample room to spread out with lots of spaced tables and seating. We brought our own picnic basket but apparently the sandwiches and other simple food choices are good as well. And, the sunset was fabulous. There was also a great classic rock band cranking out great tunes.

We just moved to Hillsboro from California. One of the reasons we settled in the area was the proximity to wineries and the beautiful countryside here. We visited LaChance last weekend and we're not disappointed with either the wines or food, which was outstanding. The views and ambiance are equally outstanding.

LaChance Vineyards has always been one of my favorite wineries to frequent. Lots of birthday parties, a few 20s parties, Halloween parties and other fun events... the owner is often around and chats with patrons and the staff is amazing. Before last night, I had never actually had dinner here. Let me say, it did NOT disappoint! The food... oh my... so good! Our waiter, Hayden, was amazing. He was attentive, gave great suggestions for things that weren't on the menu and provided a few complimentary items. We weren't there for anything other than dinner and it turned out very romantic

We visited LaChance while there was live music under the spacious tent and although very hot in the sun under that tent was quite comfortable. Wine tasting offered up a couple of new favorites. They also serve bottled beer. They had a delicious peach sangria that was not too sweet. The venue was clean and the staff was friendly. We plan to go back.
It was fairly easy to find. We went south from St Louis on highway 21, right on highway Y to Peter Moore. Turn left and LaChance is on the right.
**A good sign on highway 21 would be helpful.

We had a great day at LaChance winery. The grounds are lovely and expansive so lots of room to spread out. Good variety of wines at reasonable prices. Even my husband found a dry red wine he liked. I liked a couple of their whites. Owner was quite friendly as were all the folks working there. We will definitely go back.
