This particular Lamp design starts from it's six sprawling feet. We then twist the legs into a tight 'bold' post while the lamp fixture post is extruded through the table top. We incorporated a unique 2 piece custom shade to flow from top to bottom. The aged metal we use gives the Twisted Study lamp its old look and the powder coated finish a fresh clean appearance!
Most of our fabricated parts and metal art designs are cut on our 5'x10' plasma cutting table. Plasma cutting is a process that is used to cut steel and other metals of different thicknesses (or sometimes other materials) using a plasma torch.

In this process, an inert gas (in some units, compressed air) is blown at high speed out of a nozzle; at the same time an electrical arc is formed through that gas from the nozzle to the surface being cut, turning some of that gas to plasma. The plasma is sufficiently hot to melt the metal being cut and moves sufficiently fast to blow molten metal away from the cut.
In many cases when fabricating and designing our metal art we need to refer to the term metal forming. Most of our fabrication and metal art is designed by using some sort of forming machine or tool. Such as a Press-Brake, Roll Former, Scroll Former and Ultimately our Twister machine. Our Roll forming machine is capable of taking flat stock metal patterns and rolling them to make any design imagination possible.
