Mimosa Christian Counseling Center
The mission of Mimosa Christian Counseling Center is to restore hope and relationships for a better community through Christ-centered professional counseling. Mimosa Christian Counseling Center seeks to provide professional counseling and to facilitate emotional growth and enrichment of each individual's unique purpose and plan.

Life is a journey which, at times, can become difficult and confusing. We believe that each person is gifted for a vital role in this journey, but these gifts are sometimes unrealized because of emotional hurts and scars. Our Christian Counseling services, provided by well-trained, compassionate and caring counselors, are intended to help restore hope, encourage personal growth, heal emotional wounds, and strengthen one's faith in God.
Services
Our life journeys take many paths with different obstacles along the way. These challenges can bring loss of joy and hope. The path to restoring that joy and hope comes through the integration of sound Biblical truths and principles with professional counseling practices that address the emotional and spiritual needs of each individual.
Jane Rawson, our Clinical Coordinator, is a Licensed Psychologist who holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Appalachian State University, and a PhD in Clinical Psychology from Ohio University.
Mimosa Christian Counseling Center is governed by a board of directors that represents multiple churches and denominations and various walks of life. The board has been very active this year in spreading the word about our services and in participating in fundraisers. Most of all, they have kept the faith.
Mimosa Christian Counseling Center is funded through client fees and grants, as well as private and public donations. We also accept certain health insurance, including Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina, * The North Carolina State Health Plan, MedCost, Primary PhysicianCare, Acordia, and DirectNet.
One of the things that distinguishes MCCC from other counseling groups is our scholarship fund. This fund is money that is set aside to provide counseling to individuals who do not have the financial resources or insurance to pay for counseling. Everyone pays something, as they are able, so that they may have an investment in the counseling process.

Refused to see me because I have Tricare Insurance even though I offered to pay out of pocket. Way to support your military.

I was reluctant to go for counseling because I didn’t think I would be helped all that much. My hesitancy was based on a previous experience many years ago somewhere else. At my family doctor’s urging, I contacted Mimosa and at my first appointment Jane Rawson put my fears about what I would have to do in counseling to rest. She has gently but directly led me to a life path where I can say I am happy and grateful. She has given me tools to continue my success when life rears it’s ugly head in the future. I am so glad I made the call to Mimosa Christian Counseling and received

I had called them for requested counseling on some personal issues that taken over my life. I explained my issue and they advised they need to have call me back to evaluate me. Three days and no one has called. If I could give a zero I would.

A truly safe place that still was willing to challenge you, listen to you, celebrate the victories and redirect the misdirections.

It is wonderful to have recommended this fully accredited counseling practice to many friends and family members who have benefitted. One commented, "It was the first place I felt like I could breathe for months. They helped me so much!"
