Association of Christian Childcare Administrators (ACCA) is an organization of child care executives that is committed to promoting Christian character, professionalism in child care, training, relationships, networking and recognition. ACCA, formerly Southwestern Association of Executives of Homes for Children (SWA), grew out of a common concern of committed Christian executives to strengthen their individual campus ministries and services.
After more than sixty years of impacting the lives of children, ACCA continues its strong commitment to excellency and professionalism in all aspects of child care, programs, services and ministries. Inter-agency ties provide networking and sharing of resources to encourage a Christ-centered approach to child care.

Services
The Association of Christian Childcare Administrators (ACCA) began as Southwestern Association of Executives of Homes for Children (SWA) in February of 1947, when, at the Juliette Fowler Home in Dallas, a small group of professionals formed an association to foster close, mutual acquaintance among executives serving homes for children.
The Association of Christian Childcare Administrators places a high value on relevant, practical training to enable members and their staff to better meet the needs of troubled children and families. In addition, ACCA offers a Youth Leadership Conference for outstanding students gathered from member agencies to instruct, encourage and motivate our young people into roles of leadership.
1958 marked the first year for our annual workshop, making it the oldest continuing child-care workshop in the country. Sessions feature nationally known experts who focus on timely issues of vital interest to basic and advanced childcare staff, foster parents, social workers, counselors, and administrative staff.
Typically held in late summer, the Youth Leadership Conference (YLC) focuses on older residents of child care agencies that have been identified as leaders, or potential leaders, on our campuses. From day one, the students are absorbed in a high energy, fast paced, motivational experience that will impact their lives into the future.
The ACCA Board of Directors continues to be committed to provide resources and opportunities to promote and recognize staff excellence within the agencies the membership represents. One way of implementing this effort was to expand staff recognition by presenting two awards along with public recognition for each of the awards.
