Shetek Marine was started at Pete's Corner in 1969 by Pete and Joyce Bloemendaal and Carol Martin offering snowmobile and boat sales and service. In 1979 they moved to the current location at the end of Valhalla Island on Lake Shetek into what was then a roller skating rink and game room where they offered snowmobile and marine sales and service.
