The Legacy: Matagorda House Healthcare Center is a full-service senior living campus located in beautiful Bay City, Texas. Our therapy team can provide services for both long-term residents and short-term rehab to home. We can perform a home evaluation prior to the patients discharge to ensure all goals have been attained for the safest return home. Physical: Physical Therapists work to restore mobility and promote independence.
Clinical staff specially trained in the treatment and early identification of infections and Sepsis (TMF curriculum). Theraworx Protect is a two time innovative technology award winning formulation that is applied to the skin to promote skin and urinary tract health. Chef's Selection is returning fine dining to the rehabilitation experience. Each month, Matagorda House Healthcare Center provides a Chef's Selection Dinner which showcases gourmet cuisine from around the world. Our team is specially trained to create a meal each month that focuses on a specific region or theme.

Both of my parents currently reside at Legacy Retirement Center. One in independent living and the other in Memory care. After having my mom in several other medicaid facilities, I could not be any happier with her care. I have seen other reviews here and took great exception to their reviews. I wanted to communicate, as an educated man, father, husband. and son, that my experience with both of my parents has been exceptional. The staff is friendly and kind, the food has been good, the care has been perfectly exceptional without issue. The Assisted Living facility is clean, updated, and nice inside

Found the personnel at the Matagorda House to be wonderful and most helpful in dealing with having my mother being cared for in their healthcare center. The facility was great, professionally run, and extremely clean! They walked us through the arduous process of the approval of Medicaid benefits and no surprises in billing! Very patient care givers in the care of my mother! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

My father was placed in this rehab and no wound care was done by the nurses. Except for one particular nurse he did not receive his nebulizer treatment unless she was around. His toe is now infected to the bone and is being treated for it today at the clinic. He may lose his toe or worse. Thanks a lot Legacy for your negligence. He also complained about not getting a good sleep because staff liked to yell back and forth between hallways.

It's clean, I have to give it that, but if you listen to the people there they can't stand the food. Most of them complain about the food it has no taste or it just not what they want. On rare occasions that I go visit a few friends there we will take pizza out there or chicken just depends on what they said they would like to have. Man it sure is… nice to see the smiles on their faces when we do. That make it all worth it. But please keep up trying to make these ladies and gentlemen as comfortable as possible, we know it's hard to pleases someone at their age all the time but you have to

I do not recommend putting your loved one in this facility unless you plan on being there 24/7 to ensure they are being taken care of properly. The main reason for this review is to let others know the truth because when they are grooming the family during the interviews they make it sound like everything is great when actually it's a terrible place. Management is horrible and they only care about making money off the Medicaid system. They need to fire one nurse in the Alzheimer lockdown wing for sure maybe two including the head nurse in charge. If this place was a tire shop I wouldn't take my
