Services
The leading provider of quality vision care products and personalized optometric services in Durant. Since 1902, Clay-Rhynes Eye Clinic has been the leader and preferred provider of quality vision care products and personalized optometric services to our patients in Durant and the surrounding areas.
The story of professional eye care in the United States can nearly be told entirely through the bloodline of one family, the Clays. The Genesis of this dynasty can be traced back over 135 years. Dr. Allen Clay, patriarch of the family, began providing eye care in Louisiana in 1885. He then began traveling from farmhouse to farmhouse in rural Indian Territory along the Red River in 1902.
Dr. Jason K. Rhynes has roots that run deep in Durant and southern Oklahoma. A native of Durant, Dr. Rhynes is a 1994 graduate of Durant High School and is the son of Keith and Barbara Rhynes of Durant. With the addition of Dr. Rhynes to the staff of Clay-Rhynes Eye Clinic in 2002, our clinic was able to expand both services and availability to our patients.
Selecting your lenses and frames is a very personal choice. A wide variety of options are available that can be tailored to suit not only your medical needs but also your fashion preferences. Highlight your features, play with color, and augment vision for different functions such as reading, driving and playing sports.
SLT is used to help lower the intraocular pressure (IOP) in the treatment of glaucoma. Just as with drops, the goal is to lower the IOP to a safe enough level to prevent further progression or vision loss. It is most often used in conjunction with your current anti-glaucoma drops. Occasionally, we may try to use SLT instead of an eye drop.

I drove in from another state to get my eyes examined and I am so glad I did. Dr. Kellogg, and each member of the clinic's staff, was knowledgeable and caring beyond my expectations. Thank you!!

Dr. Clay and all of the office technicians are very thorough and friendly I would recommend them highly. My only negative comment is that I believe 630.00 for a pair of lenses in MY frames seems a little high. I will have to look somewhere else to get lenses

This is the WalMart of eye clinics. While I did have a good experience with the eye doctor, they bring in too many people at one time to provide good service outside of the one-on-one appointment. I experience a very long wait following the appointment before deciding to leave without glasses. I will not return.

I have to start by saying that scheduling online was very easy. I received a confirmation email and text which was very helpful. I picked this location because I am new to the area and according to their website they work with my insurance Blue Cross Blue Shield of Oklahoma and EYEMED vision care.

This would have been a ONE STAR review - but I have to say the employees giving the exam and the doctor were very pleasant. The front desk however should have been more diligent about confirming coverage prior to the exam.

I checked in on the day of my appointment and was asked for a copy of my insurance

I'm 70 years old and during those years I have had the opportunity, sorry to say, to receive services from a very large number of Doctors and staff. Most are good but none hold a candle to Clay-Rhynes Eye Clinic in Durant, Ok. Recently I lost all sight in my right eye and got an appointment with C-REC in Durant. All of the staff were very nice and helpful, greeted me with a smile. Imagine this, they seemed like they loved their job. I saw Dr. Clay and I have never been so much at ease as he made me feel. Dr.Clay took the time and listened as I explained what I had been through with my eyes
