Services
I've been helping individuals and families identify, work through, and successfully overcome problems in their lives for over three decades. I work with adults, teens, couples, and families on all kinds of emotional issues, relationship concerns and work issues. However, if violence has escalated to the point that you're afraid, counseling alone will not be enough to address the problem.
People tend to struggle with these kinds of issues internally, endlessly self-analyzing with no solution - or resolution - presenting itself. Then they may turn to others they trust for advice. What you get out of counseling depends on your unique needs and ability to create change. For this reason, each counseling experience is different, just as every individual is different.
While anxiety is not a pleasant experience, it may lend some comfort to know that everybody experiences anxiety from time to time. Anxiety is a basic human emotion. Happiness, anger, fear, disgust, contempt, sadness, and surprise are also normal human emotions. But if anxiety is an inseparable part of us, how do you know if anxiety is a problem for you?
Depression can give you feelings of unhappiness, lethargy, profound sadness, low self-esteem and anxiety, as well as thoughts of hopelessness, helplessness and thoughts of suicide. A qualified therapist will help a person suffering from depression to deal more effectively with the challenges they face in personal, family or work situations.
It is critical to be realistic about both your loved one and yourself, and to balance the needs of both with the demands of the rest of life. Many caregivers find therapy offers a way to deal with the stressful, negative aspects of caregiving and can give a new, more realistic outlook. Therapy can provide a private setting for you to express your feelings, needs, and concerns.
