Glacier Bay and Icy Strait possess all the best attributes of saltwater big game fishing. Halibut, King and Coho Salmon, Ling Cod, and Yellow Eye are just a few of the many species that are abundant here in the Inside Passage. Because we primarily fish inside waters, travel time to blue-ribbon fishing grounds takes less than 20 minutes.
Our area produces the largest Halibut (See chart with ADF&G Statistics below) It is a fact, the average halibut caught in our area is 2-3 times larger than the average halibut caught in Homer, Sitka, Seward, Ketchikan, Kodiak, Valdez, and the list goes on! We fish were the whales and other marine mammals are so you just might get a spectacular show while you fish.
Glacier Bay and Icy Strait possess all the best attributes of saltwater big-game fishing, without the shortcomings. Because we primarily fish inside waters, travel time to blue-ribbon fishing grounds often takes less than 20 minutes. Because there are no ocean swells where we fish, seasickness is rare.
While saltwater fishing is what makes the Glacier Bay-Icy Strait area famous, it is also home to various freshwater systems filled with a variety of fish to catch. With Salmon, Dolly Varden, wild Steelhead, and Cutthroat Trout, Southeast Alaska is a premier freshwater fishing destination.
This region offers blue ribbon freshwater angling in various tidal and mountain settings interwoven in a tapestry of remote islands that share no road connection with the remainder of the state.Chances are you won't see another person for the rest of the day, other than those in your group. Our freshwater guides are experienced wilderness guides and competent, enthusiastic teachers.

The folks running this all inclusive inn are fantastic. The lodge is beautiful, clean and comfortable. We fished for 2 days, and went into the National Park to see the glaciers and the abundant marine life. The lodge packed and froze our fish, and we brought it home to enjoy. The meals were wonderful too. Superb vacation!!!!

Curtise,
Thanks again for another fun stay at the Lodge! Do pencil us in for now for next season, same time. We will be back!
Your food continues to be superb and staff welcoming. Of course, we were very pleased with the rooms and cabins. I would post a photo of the fish caught, but can't seem to do this. See you and your teM next year, same time!

Four of us stayed three nights at GBCI. Two nights before an 8 day kayak trip, and one night when we returned. The staff went above and beyond in taking care of us and delivering us to where we needed to be. They were unfailingly kind, cheerful and generous with their time. And the food was the best I've had--their chef, John, is amazing. Each night a choice of meat or seafood. We chose seafood each meal and loved the salmon cakes, Dungeness Crab, and shrimp scampi. Wish we'd been there for the halibut! The rooms were excellent, beds comfortable, space welcoming.

We were lucky enough to get a cabin here and boy it didn't disappoint. Curtis and his staff are the most awesome host that we encountered anywhere in Alaska.....may be anywhere in the world that we have been. Chef John put an incredible meal down for us and did it again foe breakfast.....seriously homemade donuts. Curtis set everything up foe us from rides to tours to anything that uou will want or need. The lodge has a hot tub, covered fire pit, game room with video games, basketball games, ping pong, pool, and a crazy awesome movie room, and bicycles to ride as much as you want., the lodge even
