Toying between Arctic Explorer or Architect, Mike started designing houses when he was 6 years old. His skills have improved, but his passion is the same. With a family of his own, and a dog on the way, he understands how life evolves and changes, and knows that homes need to reflect this. Mike still sees himself as an explorer.
His job satisfaction comes from helping families discover how they use the space around them, both inside and out. A New Jersey architect, Mike is a member of the American Institute of Architects and is also certified with the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards. He is a licensed and registered architect in the states of New York and New Jersey.

Services
At Sweebe Architecture we measure homes in feet, the steps they take and the journeys they go on. We work with clients to help them understand their unique flow and family rhythm. We are infectiously curious. We relish figuring sight lines for toddlers, homework nooks, teen hangs, entertaining space and functional kitchens.
Our initial consultation focuses on listening. We know that the most thoughtful architectural plans come from really understanding our clients' needs and interests. We want to hear your story. We also answer questions, help with worries, discuss likely construction budgets and outline timeframes. Our proposal is a thorough assessment of your needs and the scope of work.
Architects provide imagination, vision, planning, structural integrity, code compliance and safety. Town building departments require engineering calculations and drawings from architects when the project calls for wood framing and foundation work.
This means that if a homeowner is knocking down a wall between two spaces and needs a beam installed, is creating an addition with new walls, roof, and foundation, or is building a new house from the ground up, an architect will need to provide certified drawings to the town proving all structural members-wood and concrete-are correctly calculated and sized to carry weight.Contractors are not licensed to provide structural information.

Mike was a pleasure to work with from start to finish. We worked with him on a kitchen/powder room/pantry extension. He spent time with us up front to understand how we lived, our goals for the space and worked through multiple iterations of the design until we nailed it. He listened carefully, welcomed feedback and suggestions with grace, and was thorough and detailed. He selectively made design suggestions which we trusted and they had a huge impact. It was so enjoyable collaborating with him and he ultimately designed a stunning kitchen that fits us to a T as well as molds right in with the

Mike went above and beyond to deliver the house of my dreams. He listened and paid attention to the macro design and micro details that I wanted. His renovation plans were impeccable with the contractors noting that they had never seen this level of detail. This helped to move the project along seamlessly during COVID. My neighbors are impressed with the esthetics and design of the house. Most importantly I am happy everyday with our home.

Great experience with Mike as part of our home renovation project to build an addition and remodel. He took the time to get to know my wife and I and propose a design that best matched our in-home habits/needs. Highly recommended to anyone in the area seeking an architect for your project and have already referred him to several others.

We had a great experience working with Mike, he not only understood what we wanted to do but brought a lot of ideas to the table that we had not thought of for our renovation project. He was also there for us throughout the process and worked closely with our contractor when things needed to be adjusted as the build was completed. We now have our beautiful “forever” home and are incredibly happy with how it turned out.

Mike is amazing! Took our 1960s home and turned it into a beautiful open concept. We renovated every room in our home and Mike laid out every detail perfectly. He came up with amazing solutions and beautiful ideas we would have never thought of. He and his team were also very patient with all my requests and always responsive. So happy with the design of our home and the support along the way.
