I was born and raised in Northeast Texas. I know you because I am one of you. And like you, I have not been one of the most privileged people in my life. I understand what it is like to be stuck between a rock and a hard place. You need some way to escape. You need peace of mind. You just need a little bit of comfort.
There are several different types of bankruptcy available to you depending on your situation. The following types are the most common. Chapter 7 is designed for individuals (debtors) who do not have sufficient income or property to pay their debts along with ordinary household or business expenses.
J. Brian Allen guided us through the entire process so smoothly - was always so professional, courteous, knowledgeable and always had time for our many questions. We never felt alone - and we highly recommend him. My wife and I recently had to file bankruptcy. This was not something we wanted to do, however when we lost our jobs and had to relocate, our debt would have taken us longer to pay off than we would be alive.
Does filing Bankruptcy stop a foreclosure and/or repossession of a car? Yes. Upon the proper filing of a Chapter 13 case, and by giving actual notice the affected creditor, a foreclosure on your home or real estate is stopped. The missed payments are included in a Chapter 13 Plan over 60 months. Likewise, repossession of your car is stopped.
This first course is to be completed prior to the filing of your bankruptcy. This is a mandatory counseling session required by bankruptcy law and MUST be completed within 180 days BEFORE the bankruptcy filing. It can be done via the telephone or it can be completed online. Each debtor must complete the course at his/her own expense.
