We work every day to create value for our clients through creative, sustainable approaches to wastewater treatment, dispersal, and collections. AQWA is a small family owned business that loves the work we do and strives to bring our best to the table every day. The descriptions below are a brief introduction.
The reality is we all wear many hats and fill multiple roles to create successful outcomes for all of our clients. A graduate from Texas A&M (Gig 'em!), Steve got his start in the wastewater world as an environmental health specialist in Florida. When he's not working on creative solutions to wastewater treatment and collections, you will probably find him on the soccer field at Barton College as the assistant coach for their men's soccer team.

Services
Onsite wastewater treatment, septic and collections solutions are what we serve up to our clients every day. Unlock the value of your property with our experience using creative onsite wastewater collections and treatment solutions. I work with AQWA and recommend Advantex systems, because I am in the business of 'Lifetime septic systems.'
Engineered septics often achieve a better outcome for property development than if the owner had just gone with a local health department design. We have worked with soil professionals, engineers and property developers to create massive equity through smarter wastewater treatment design and concepts.
Did you know that homeowners with failing septic systems can apply for a direct discharge (point discharge) permit from the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality (NC DEQ)? In the photo to the left, an AX20RTUV is ready to be installed on a 1960's era home in Durham County with a failing sand filter septic system.
We help you get your dream house built on your dream lot even when the soils are poor, the lot is small, and the water table is high. Maximum land value use is what we seek to help you achieve through better onsite wastewater technology and creative understanding of the rules. DHEC 61:56 rules allow for licensed engineers to design a septic system if a site has been denied by DHEC.
Pre-assembled, easy to maintain, ready to install private Lift Station solution to help you connect to sewer. STEP (Septic Tank with Effluent Pump) collections systems are an economical, low-impact, long-term solution to collecting and delivering wastewater to a treatment facility. STEP collections systems can significantly reduce the need to dig up roads, sidewalks, and otherwise disturb traffic flow and landscapes.
