North Coast Laboratories, Ltd. was founded in 1975. Its primary function was to provide water quality analyses to local municipalities and the timber industry. NCL gradually expanded into a full service environmental laboratory with an international client base and a reputation for expertise in the analysis of difficult and unusual herbicides and pesticides.
In 1987, this expertise allowed the laboratory to expand its capabilities to include the analytical portion of agrochemical registration studies. NCL is a fully GLP compliant laboratory. The lab has also developed expertise in analyzing a broad range of organic chemicals in drinking water.

Services
North Coast Labs offers a number of bacteriological tests that can assist you in determining the quality of your water. The most basic test for bacterial contamination of a water supply is the test for total coliform bacteria. Coliform bacteria are abundant in the environment-some species inhabit soil, some live on plants, and some reside in the gut and feces of warm-blooded animals.
North Coast Laboratories has extensive experience analyzing organic chemicals in a variety of agricultural commodities including plant and animal tissue. For example, this experience includes the analysis of diquat/paraquat, dithiocarbamates and glyphosate in a variety of plant matrices. Please contact our Client Services Department for more information regarding the scope of matrices and analytes that NCL is capable of analyzing.
North Coast Laboratories can assist you in determining whether your waste has excessive contaminants, primarily heavy metals, under state and federal guidelines. If the material is hazardous, then it must be recycled, treated, stored, or disposed at a proper hazardous waste facility. TTLC and STLC analyses are used to determine whether solid wastes are hazardous under state regulations (Title 22 of the California Code of Regulations).
NCL has been providing services to the environmental and regulatory community for more than 25 years. Over these years, the laboratory has gained a tremendous amount of technical experience with a wide variety of matrices. During this time, the lab has focused on the analysis of difficult and unusual pesticides and herbicides using GC, HPLC, GC/MS and LC/MS/MS instrumentation.

Former Employee. Worked here for about 4 years. Great people, lab offers tests that are difficult to find other places, staff has integrity. Ultimately ended up not being the right career path for me, but the experience that i gained there was invaluable and if i could go back and do it again I would 100%. Good people, accurate results.
