With an early background in Karate, Judo and Ju-Jitsu, in my late teens I started my journey in Chinese martial arts. In December of 1981, when only 25 years old, I opened my first school in Parma, Ohio, where I lived at the time. I have been teaching professionally and on a fulltime basis ever since.

I have been fortunate to have found and trained with some of the finest masters in the world in several different traditional Chinese martial arts styles, and I continue to follow my teachers to this day. In the 80's, I was operating schools in the greater Cleveland area and had branch schools in Ohio, Pennsylvania, and North Carolina.

Kung Fu differs from Karate and Tae Kwon Do in principle and technique. Karate comes from Okinawa and Japan. Tae Kwon Do is from Korea. Kung Fu originated in China. Kung Fu is more fluid and makes more use of circular techniques. Power is generated in much the same way as a towel that is being snapped.
Today MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) is very popular and the current rage among martial arts. It is promoted as a modern art which incorporates all aspects of fighting: Striking, Kicking and Grappling. This is neither new nor innovative! Traditional Chinese Martial Arts, not the modern performance sport known as Wushu or the watered down version of Kung Fu, incorporate in their repertoire of skills Four Major Categories.
