At Little Woodland Preschool (LWP), our mission is to educate children to be creative, critical thinkers. We integrate developmentally appropriate academic education with child-driven activities in all areas, focusing on the arts and sciences. At the same time, we promote the emotional and physical health of the children.

Our goal is to create lifelong learners who reach their full potential as contributors to the community. Our image of the child is that they are capable and unique individuals who should not be confined to a standardized form of learning. We believe children should be free to explore and discover the world around them in a safe, loving, and fun environment.
Services
Our teachers enrich the infants by offering music, outdoor time, movement, art, and reading aloud to further their development. The maximum number of children in this classroom is 14. We strive to get your child kindergarten ready while still following our curriculum approach. This classroom turns into our Camp Woodland program in the summer to be offered to children 4-10 years old.
The foundation of the Reggio Emilia approach lies in its unique view of the child. In this approach, there is a belief that children have rights and should be given opportunities to develop their potential. Rather than being seen as the target of instruction, children are seen as having an active role as an apprentice.

Positive: Communication, Professionalism, Quality
All three of my children have gone to LWP from Birth to 4K, they still talk about Little Woodland years later. The school is top notch and fits right in with the Lake Mills Community! The owners and staff are truly dedicated to serving you and your family.

Little woodland is amazing! Our daughter misses going there on weekends! :) Great teachers, small groups of kids and nice environment. I appreciate the communication from teachers and the owner regarding my child or any questions I may have.

We've been there for about a year and our kids clearly have meaningful and positive relationships with the staff, they have a great variety of activities, and the owner and staff have been easy to connect with and responsive when we've had questions. Our experience has a been a good one.
