Services
A family run architectural firm with LEED accredited staff, Hudgins Design Collaborative can provide architectural services utilizing green building practices and technologies. We also provide design and support services for renovation, additions and new structures. Hudgins Design Collaborative has worked with contractors and owners on commercial properties, residential properties and ecclesiastical properties.
Frances Hudgins, a registered architect with degrees from the University of Virginia, School of Architecture, began working in New York City and Washington, DC on large international and government work before starting Hudgins Design Collaborative in 1999. HDC focuses on residential, ecclesiastical and small commercial projects and provides thoughtful, contextual architectural design.
Frances Hudgins took our back-of the napkin sketch, and made it into a beautiful, practical addition to our home. She talked with us at length about what we wanted, but also about how we live our daily lives and then she put that all on paper and built it. It was a 100-year old house, and Frances designed the new portion so that it can hardly be distinguished from the original.
At Hudgins Design Collaborative, we interpret homeowners visions by altering and adding living spaces unique to each client. Where possible, we help owners determine if and when existing material and details can be preserved, reused or enhanced and can provide assistance with sustainable construction practices.
