We are a 501(c)(3) Nonprofit Federally Qualified Health Center providing healthcare services for people of all ages, regardless of the patient's ability to pay. We stand apart from other clinics because we're the only facility in the area that houses family medical care, mental health services, and general dentistry, all under one roof.
First Care Clinic is committed to providing quality healthcare to Ellis County and the surrounding areas. Healthcare services are provided by highly skilled, compassionate providers and nurse practitioners. First Care Clinic accepts most major insurances, but also offers services on a sliding fee scale for those who qualify.
HealthMark Group fulfills all patient requests for personal copies at no charge to the patient. A complimentary copy of your record will be made available through HealthMark Group's website, www.medrelease.com/360. I only have positive things to say about this clinic. I'm almost certain that Dawn Knapp saved my life by changing my diet and recommending mental health care that's actually worked for me. Camille is also great, Erin is great. Janie and Sarah at the front desk are particularly nice! And I love Becca and Dr. Thomas with dental. I'm thankful to have my care all housed in one building. And the patient portal makes it really easy to keep track of my appointments. I've been to a few other clinics in Hays that didn't provide this quality or scope of care. It's a wonderful primary care office.

Would never go here again nor recommend anyone. Front desk ladies.. Shawna and Janie were very disrespectful. Seriously worse customer service ever. They complained about “paperwork” they would need to do since they have never seen me. Told me to go to the ER even though all I needed was to see a doctor. Tried to tell me what was wrong with me claiming it’s only allergies… when I’m sure they don’t have any medical degrees. Seriously worse experience I’ve ever had. I’m beyond upset.

UPDATE: Within 3 days of posting my initial review someone from 1st Care called and asked me to take it down. When I refused I was sent a certified letter saying that I have been "dismissed" & I have 30 days to find another Dr. I had no intention in returning anyway. Whatever happened to good customer service trying to resolve issues & creating good customer relations? What a joke these guys are. I can only imagine what the next letter will say after they read this review. What will they threaten now if I don't change/remove it?

Love love loved Knapp. She was fantastic and made me feel welcome and comfortable with all of my questions.
I had a dentist appointment before that and the hygienist was nice as well.
I didn't get a reminder about my appointment and wasn't quite aware of my surroundings since i am new to the area. But overall a good experience and liked having everything in one place.

I used to like going to first care for my doctors appointments when I started college in 2016. However, events that occurred earlier this year were absolutely incompetent and horrible. I saw one of the doctors when I was super sick and had a bad sore. I was blown off for 3+ weeks after a handful of appointments. Them blowing me off nearly resulted in me dying due to them overlooking a flesh eating bacterial infection! I ended up at my hometown doctors and getting everything handled. Their incompetence literally almost killed me.

I have been taking Both my children 9&5 here for over a year and my daughter has braces. Installed by a different person. But about a month ago I was told that my daughter needed a cavity filled and they scheduled my daughter for it and I requested that day off from my job. I live about an hour and a half away. We drove all the way to Hays to have my daughter there by 8 o’clock in the morning we were about five blocks from first care and they called me and told me that the doctor wasn’t going to be in today and that they needed to reschedule. So three hours of my day was just wasted for driving

Everything is outstanding from staffs, Front desk, Nurse, Technicians, the clinic, and treatments.
My first visit was to taken care of my dental health. It has been a great experience. I healed quickly.
My recent medical experience at Firstcare was with Dr.Fisher. I am so blessed, thankful and grateful to see her for my condition.
She is not only trying to diagnosis my health concerned but also taking time educated me of my condition.

This is just my opinion, but the healthcare providers in Hays are typically left to be desired. From HaysMed to HaysOrtho to First Care and beyond, I have had one terrible experience after another.
When I heard that First Care recently hired a new APRN, I decided to give her a try! Nurse practitioner Nicole Spray was everything I had wanted in all my previous healthcare professionals beforehand.
She took her time, asking me questions, giving me advice, and performing a serious of necessary tests. She was very kind, did not give me the go-around like many other doctors and nurses do these days

If I couldn't give this facility ZERO stars I would but unfortunately, that's not an option.
I went to Dr. Paris for a post examination and X-ray from a recent wisdom tooth extraction I had 6 days prior back in California. I had to follow up with Dr. Paris bc I wasn't in CA & I developed a small dry socket. Unfortunately I don't have dental insurance, so I was obligated to seek treatment there. Being that I was enduring pain and discomfort I was anxious about treatment to begin with. Nevertheless, I was examined by the dental assistant who took an X-ray and came back

I went to this clinic for several years and liked the medical staff that worked there. Very kind, supportive, and friendly. I am giving the clinic thee stars due to their billing department. Early this year I had suffered a miscarriage and was dealing with depression so the provider I saw put me on an antidepressant, got me set up with a counselor, and ordered a general blood panel (had been a year since my last one) to check my blood sugar, cholesterol, white cell count, etc. The billing department submitted it to my insurance under the coding for fertility testing. I spoke with my provider and
