The *Award Winning, Midnight Sun Cakery is a custom cake studio. We work out of a professional licensed kitchen attached to the owner's personal residence in Anchorage, Alaska. We specialize in cake and cupcakes, primarily using buttercream and natural designs. We make each cake to order. We are a small bakery that has the experience to handle big ideas!
I first picked up cake artistry as a hobby in high school as my mother and I would make cakes together. Through the years I continued to make cakes for my friends and family as it seems someone around me always needed an out of the ordinary cake and I just love pouring my hard work into an edible creations that exceeds expectations!

Your wedding is a once in a lifetime event! Here at the award winning* Midnight Sun Cakery we love to meet the challenge of making your special day unforgettable with the perfect center piece of your reception, the cake! I love meeting and working with engaged couples to create a truly unique and great tasting design.
We do not have a full-time administrative assistant here at our bakery. The best way to place a request for a cake it use our "Form Submission." However, we have an administrative assistant scheduled to answer your call Tuesday-Friday 10:30-3:30. Our number is 907-229-0347. I have no regrets about working with Midnight Sun Cakery for my wedding cake needs. From the very beginning, they were easy to communicate with and willing to put in extra effort to help me achieve my vision. Living off the road system, I believed my dreams of cake tasting were impossible. Midnight Sun Cakery made this dream a reality as we selected a large selection of cake flavors and had samples delivered to an air taxi in Anchorage. The samples made it out to us the same day with no difficulties. All the cakes tasted delicious, but we decided on the Alaskan Raspberry Rhubarb for our wedding

We picked up our cake this afternoon and it is divine! I don’t know if I have ever had a better slice of cake in my life. First of all, the cake is fabulous and looks beautiful, secondly, Midnight Sun Cakery… was so flexible and accommodating for us. We were supposed to pick up this cake back in December for my boyfriend’s 25th birthday (he’s a huge legend of Zelda fan), but we ended up postponing our travel and luckily we were able to get our same cake today (nearly 6 months later). We are so thankful for your flexibility and working with us, even when our travel unexpectedly

I have gotten custom cakes made from here twice and each time the customer service was amazing and the owner helped tailor the cake to exactly what I needed! And not only do the cakes look amazing they taste amazing and you can tell the ingredients are high quality! This is the only place I will get my cakes from here in anchorage!

I had a smash cake made for my son's 1st Birthday. I wanted simple but cute...and this cake was everything I wanted it to be! it was beautiful and the custom topper she had created for it was perfect! The cake… was brown sugar flavor with buttercream icing and when I say this was the most delicious cake I have ever eaten in my life, I really mean it!! On top of all of that, the owner was one of the nicest people I have ever spoken with - very accommodating and timely responses to all of my questions. We will definitely be ordering from here again in the very near future and will recommend

Purchased a cake for my wife’s birthday. We live out in the bush and ordering items to be shipped from town are a gamble. This gamble paid big time! Amazing flavor, superb customer service, and the cake was boxed perfectly for shipping. Midnight Sun is highly recommended. I will definitely be buying more in the future!

I went to see Anita with a very vague idea of what I wanted for a cake and she gave amazing suggestions and really understood what I was going for. The cake tasted absolutely incredible and we had 4 different kinds of cupcakes that were equally as great. She did an amazing job setting the cake/cupcakes up for us and made the process quick and easy. She was also very willing to help us accommodate a dairy allergy so everyone could enjoy the cake! It was an amazing experience working with Anita and I would definitely do it again.

Our cake for our wedding was amazing both in decoration and taste. It’s been a month since the wedding and we still have people raving about the cake. I found this bakery several years ago and have not had to look back! They are accommodating and make the most delicious cakes and cupcakes I've ever had. I use them for all occasions; birthdays (mine included), work parties, fundraisers, etc. Anita is great and all her employees have a pleasant attitude. I can not recommend them enough to all my friends, family, coworkers. The pictures I posted is from my birthday cake last year, I love buttercream frosting and she always seems to put the perfect amount for me!

After trying every carrot cake in town, we decided Midnight Sun had by far the Best carrot cake in Southcentral AK! Her fillings during our tasting were amazing, the carrot cake was incredible and our wedding cake was gorgeous! She drove it out to our wedding site and decorated it with flowers exactly as requested! Only place to go for custom cakes!!!

So I hate to do this but I feel it's a must after the owner treated a returning customer... I contacted the owner thru text message to get a quote for a cake.
I told her what I needed and she gave me a very high price. I told her that was to much and gave her my limit price. She then brushed me off and didn't even acknowledge my limit price.
I reminded her I am a returning customer and gave the price of a cake we got back in December last year. She then tells me she has raised her prices since then and the current cake I want now is going to be more detailed and time consuming

Ordered cupcakes and birthday cake truffles for my daughter's first birthday and they were outstanding!!! By far the best cupcakes/specialty bakery in Anchorage, and trust me I tried them all when I was pregnant :) Just wish I had known about this sooner. Anita and Holly were fantastic to work with. Clear communication the whole way through. I sent an inspiration picture and what I got was even better. I highly recommend The Midnight Sun Cakery. Anita at Midnight Sun was incredible. Not only was the cake super delicious, but it looked exquisite. All my guests were raving about it and some said it was the best wedding cake they ever had. When we did the cake tasting, all of Anita's flavors were incredible but we eventually chose the white cake with chocolate ganache swirl.
I also really appreciated how accommodating Anita was and so great to work with. She didn't try to talk us into a more expensive cake but bent over backwards to keep it within the budget. She was great communicating by text and always got back to me quickly

We chose Anita from Midnight Sun Cakery to make our wedding cake. At our initial meeting, we both were very impressed with Anita's professionalism and all that she had to offer. She came prepared with many different cake and frosting flavors and when we told her approximately what we wanted the cake to look like, she made a sketch for us right there.
