In 1958, Robert L. Mendenhall started what is now Nevada's top heavy civil construction company, Las Vegas Paving Corp. With very little capital and a lot of desire, he was able to turn one hot plant into nine while expanding the company's capability to complete any task associated with highway construction.

Now with 56 years in Nevada and the surrounding southwest, Las Vegas Paving's success is undeniable. In 2006, asphalt production climbed to 2,000,000 tons with aggregate production eclipsing 10,000,000 tons for the year. With our large inventory of equipment available for a variety of projects, Las Vegas Paving self-performs the vast majority of work contracted to complete.
Services
Formed in the early 1960's, the Excavation and Grading Division was formed as a compliment to the Paving Division. The first major project came in 1983 when the Carlin Gold Mining Company contracted with Las Vegas Paving to divert James Creek and construct the Carlin Dam. Final construction of the dam resulted in the placement and compaction of three million cubic yards of material.
Supported by five strategically located stationary hot plants and two portable operations, Las Vegas Paving has completed thousands of asphalt paving projects in Nevada, California, Utah and Arizona. With a fully credited AASHTO Certified quality control staff and lab, along with the most experienced personnel in the nation, Las Vegas Paving has placed well in excess of 38 million tons of asphalt during our 56 year history.
Las Vegas Paving Corp maintains a top quality fleet of over 150 trucks and multifaceted trailers including belly dumps, end dumps, side dumps, live bottoms, transports and oil distributors with capabilities of hauling 20 to 40 tons of material that can handle all of the material delivery needs in the construction industry.
Las Vegas Paving's Materials Division is the leading aggregate and asphalt supplier throughout the Las Vegas Valley with over 75 million tons of aggregate and 20 million tons of asphalt sold since 2000. Currently, Las Vegas Paving has 10 strategically located material sources around the Las Vegas Valley with additional operations serving California and satellite operations in North Dakota.
Started in 1985, Las Vegas Paving's Underground Division accounts for a significant amount of the company's construction revenue. Typically concentrating on the larger, more difficult public works utility projects, the Underground Division handles all scopes of work from the simplest manhole adjustment to installing the largest of pipelines and associated structures including sanitary sewer, water and storm drain.
