Gunston Wok

We've been adrift ever since moving back into the area and finding that Hunan Lorton had closed, but it looks like we've finally found a decent local Chinese food place that doesn't break the bank.
While we haven't yet sampled the entire menu, I feel like I can say that, while it's food is not "authentic Chinese" and isn't revolutionary, it's good, flavorful "American Chinese food". And that's fine! It's great, even, if that's what you're looking for. It's what we were looking for, and that's why I'm giving it 5 stars.
Oh, one thing: Many of the dishes allow you to select a level of spiciness

All of the food is delicious. Fried dumplings are large. Beef and broccoli is a very good portion. And the shrimp fried rice actually uses decently sized shrimp, rather than the tiny ones you normally see in other restaurants

Good Chinese takeout! Food was fresh, hot, and fast. Chicken was tender and great quality-all white meat! Easy to order and they are doing a great job of reducing contact and wearing masks.

Order General Tso and Orange Chicken....there was barely any meat. Most of it was mushy breading. Chicken was dry inside and out. Won't be eating here again.

We always order Chinese food there since it's very close to where we live. I love their crab rangoons, can't live without cream cheese! Their Mongolian beef is good!

This review was for an order a while back but never got around to writing one. It's the typical looking Chinese take out joint, not very impressive physical presentation. I had ordered online the general tso's with white rice and a coke. Went there to pick up and got my bag to go. I also grabbed the coke bottle that was on the counter next to my bag. On my way out, some guy, turns out one of the employees, rudely shouted at me that i grabbed his bottle of coke. I told him it was next to my bag and i had an order of coke. He said it's not mine and i should get a can from the fridge

Just ordered $70 worth of food from Gunston Wok that cost me over $90 with all of the ridiculous Door Dash fees. Only received one Shrimp Fried Rice but I ordered two (as clearly shown in the receipt). Called the restaurant to tell them I did not receive two orders of Shrimp Fried Rice. The man who answered just argued with me for a solid 5 minutes, telling me I did NOT order 2 shrimp fried rice. I finally asked him if he really thought I had nothing better to do than call and lie about not receiving food that I just spent $90 on. He refused to give me a refund or deliver the missing food, and

The food is good, but the customer service is absolutely terrible and unapologetic. They forgot to include a $1.10 item in our order, which we placed online and paid for upfront, and I had to go back to my vehicle to get cash to pay for it. They would not except card for an item that small, even though the mistake was on their end and the item was listed on the receipt. Our order was for $60, and I pointed that out, and yet they still expect me to go back to my car and get cash. Absolutely unreasonable and unprofessional...

Fresh food! Live in Saratoga Virginia and only order from Gunston Wok!
Prices are so much cheaper then Saratoga Chinese restaurant.

Very mediocre Chinese food. Thought the food would be better. Spare ribs tasted old (reheated) and sesame chicken was just ok. The only highlight was the fried rice.

We order here fairly frequently, bypassing closer Chinese restaurants. Food is very fresh and served in piping hot, generous portions. When I've ordered delivery, it comes super quick most of the time and is always ready when I arrive promptly at pickup. The owners are friendly and aim to please. They also offer coupons and we usually end up getting a free dish or appetizer with nearly all orders. A great go-to when you have a craving for Chinese food!

Ordered Low Mein. The noodles had a soaked in grease that was old taste. Ate an order and had a bit of an upset stomach. Not impressed.

First visit to this place. A modest eat in and take out place with seats for about ten people. We ordered take out - beef lo mein, crab Rangoon, vegetable spring rolls, and hot and sour soup. The order was ready in ten minutes and was nice and hot when we got home. The quality was on a par with the decor of the place. Not the best I've had but it was tasty and filling. I think we'll try another place next time.

Just ordered delivery. Food came SO FAST! It was hot and delicious and the fortune cookie made me very happy! New go to Chinese place! :)

Literally my favorite family-owned take-out Chinese food in Fairfax! My to-go order typically consists of beef with broccoli, combo lo mein, and the sweet and sour chicken breast. All the dishes are between 6.95 to 8.95, and ordering three dishes is plenty of food for four people! The sweet and sour chicken is my favorite and comes with a side of rice.

Found this 10 mins into my meal when I felt a crunch. Loved this place but now they will not get my money anymore. All I got was "sorry" and not even a reimbursement. Smh

The food is good but it's only a matter of time before YOU find something wrong with your food next. Avoid it now.
