Islamorada is an incorporated village in Monroe County, located across five islands including Plantation Key, Windley Key, Upper Matecumbe Key, Lower Matecumbe Key, and Tea Table Key. The island paradise is located approximately 90 minutes from Miami and has a total population of 6,119 as of 2010. Within Islamorada are three official neighborhoods: Matecumbe, Lower Matecumbe Beach, and Plantation Key Colony.
Key Largo, previously known as Rock Harbor, is situated in the upper Florida Keys. Its name is derived from the Spanish term Cayo Largo, meaning "long key." The island spans more than 15 miles of land and sea with a total population of 10,433 as of 2010. Not only is the island an amazing area to visit, but it's also an incredible place to live.
Set on 13 islands, Marathon is a breathtaking city in the Florida Keys known for its barrier reef and beaches. The Middle Keys' city comprises much of Vaca Key, Grassy Key, and Fat Deer Key, in addition to several other smaller islands. As most homes in Marathon are situated halfway down the Florida Keys, there is a sense of remoteness.
The Florida Keys are separated into three primary areas: the Upper Keys, Middle Keys, and Lower Keys. The Middle Keys end at MM 47 or the south end of the 7-Mile Bridge and this is where the Lower Keys begins. Within the Lower Keys you'll find a number of islands such as Little Duck Key, Ohio Key, Spanish Harbor Keys, and Big Pine Key.
