Services
Your options for cremation final disposition have increased with the addition of the scattering garden. You can scatter the remains of your loved one around the trees and plants surrounding what's been identified as a "Hopewellian era Culture Mound". You can choose for an ossuary burial wherein you can place the cremains of your loved ones in our communal burial space.
Cameos and/or flower vases may be added to a monument or memorial either at the time of selection or at a later date. Cameos, which are a picture of your choice, may be added to a variety of monuments and memorials, including niche and crypt fronts. Flower vases are available in several styles and colors to suit your specific memorial.
The upright is available in both single and companion. It offers the best option when it comes to engravings of various kinds and may be personalized in many ways. Dates of marriage, terms of endearment, photos and emblems are all available to select from. The bevel generally sits six or eight inches above the ground and is available in a single or companion size.
We furnish you a scale drawing of your initial selection for you approval or any necessary revisions you would like to make. This need to be completed before fabrication can begin. The tree of remembrance is great to pay a living tribute to the deceased. It combines the beauty of a growing tree along with the elegance of a traditional memorial.
I came to Maplewood Cemetery in 2010 to oversee at-need and pre-need sales and shortly after we started to offer Granite Monuments. In 2019 I accepted the position of General Manager. Since then we have made several improvements to the grounds and the cemetery as a whole, one notable example being the installation of the glass-front niches in the chapel.

Today we went to the Chapel & there were bugs & a worm on the carpet. We were told that the chapel was going to be redecorated with new carpet, new chairs, etc. Nothing has been done & we were told this 5 months ago. Not happy we had to take off our pictures as memories on the Crypt in the Chapel so they could have a new look...I like the old look with families having their memories on their loved ones Crypt.

A intresting cemetery, I have not had the pleasure of seeing many in the midwest. I come from Colorado and the cemeteries there are much younger as one may imagine. I find the different mausoleums and funerary monuments retain a certain gothic beauty. This place is a great location for a morning or afternoon walk with friends or family.
