Prior to founding Hilgard Log Builders, Blair Anderson had been working in construction for other contractors. When one of them began building a log home, the project struck a deep chord with Blair, who felt inspired by the use of logs to create a natural living space, as well as by the genuine artisanship the project demanded.
With time and hard work, Blair did more than just learn. He became an expert log home designer and builder, as well as a licensed general contractor. In 1980, he founded Hilgard Log Builders at Hebgen Lake in West Yellowstone, naming the company after Hilgard Peak, the tallest mountain in Montana's Madison Range.

Due to our experience, we are able to combine design services with handcrafted log shell construction and general contracting according to each client's needs.
