Lacy's Shotokan Karate
Traditional Japanese karate dojo in Texarkana teaching the importance of martial arts and self defense to ALL ages! Learn powerful self defense techniques from a 3 time National Champion, 2 time World Martial Arts Hall of Fame inductee and U.S. Martial Arts Hall of Fame inductee! Master Wayland D. Lacy has been teaching karate in the Ark-La-Tex since 1973.

Our students learn karate as it was meant to be taught as a self-defense system. Through our program they learn self-control, self-confidence, higher self-esteem and respect. Lacy's Shotokan Karate teaches traditional techniques such as punches, kicks, knees and blocks, but we also incorporate takedowns and submissions to prepare our students for any situation.

Used to go here when I was a kid, now as an adult I've come back. He's a 10th degree black belt and really knows his stuff.

Our son started taking classes here about a year ago. We have been more than pleased with the outcome. He loves going to class and he loves working with everyone involved. Everyone will invest their time and energy to the best of their ability to make sure all of these kids know everything they need to know about karate. There's nowhere else I would rather him be than Lacy's Shotokan karate! I highly recommend them if you are thinking of putting your child in karate. I promise you won't be disappointed!

We love Lacy's. He is the best in town. Mr. Lacy is wonderful with all three of our children and we could not be happier. He not only highly decorated in karate but also ex special forces military and a former school principal. He shows patience but is firm and makes class fun for the children. The rest of the instructors are black belt and above and are all spectacular.

Excellent family atmosphere. The instructors care about student success and having fun. My wife and I enjoyed learning self defense as well as making friendships with awesome people. The techniques are also viable. My wife is half my size and can throw me down now. We had a great overall experience.
