Kevin and Shirley Young, a couple of California transplants, had a dream of resurrecting this historic property. The Youngs sold almost everything they owned to buy the classic old fixer upper motel. They moved from the fast paced lifestyle of California, leaving behind lucrative careers with a famous hotel chain, to settle into the charm of Williams where nostalgic neon lights meet wild west cowboys on famous Route 66.
The suites in our two authentic 1929 Santa Fe cabooses are favorites with our guests. The Little Red Cabooses, retired from the Atchinson, Topeka & Santa Fe Railway (ATSF), have been remodeled for comfort and fun! Over the past few years, an increasing amount of guests have mentioned unusual things happening in Caboose #2.
If your dog shows behavior that is protective and unfriendly to strangers, please leave it at home. We will ask owners of unfriendly and aggressive dogs to find other accommodations. When you make a reservation, the first night's charge for each room is applied to your credit card - Mastercard, Visa, or Discover. If you cancel your reservation for any reason at any time, there is a $20.00 cancellation fee per room. If you cancel within seven days of the reservation arrival date, the first night of each room is nonrefundable.

I was very disappointed in the RV Park. They really need to work on being more welcoming and hospitable. They are not children or dog friendly. The shower/bathroom lights turn off automatically and, while they are motion detected, it's very awkward to turn them on again once in the shower. The office staff was slightly rude about masks. The worst example of a lack of hospitality is comment at the top of their flyer "LATE CHECK OUT FEE APPLIES AT 11:01." Quite silly to be that legalistic. We won't be going back.

Very cute place with two sweet ladies running the desk. I was tired when I checked in and didn't realize I paid around $140 for a place with no A/C and only one working window. The decor and buildings are showing their age. I also saw a sign where they sell coffee by the cup out of a Keurig (for $2.25) in the general store. Tons of rules posted throughout the premises too.
I started to realize I should have done my research. There are many other properties to stay at in Williams with working A/C and more affordable.
I read the history of the place and get the vintage concept but if

I stayed for a weekend in the hotel (or, cabin?) and my parents were staying in the RV park. Everything is nice but dated. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed our stay. The only reason I didn't give a 5 star review is because the price is on the higher side. There are other lodging options that are cheaper but we wanted to stay in the same park so we could visit my parents in their RV.

Very enjoyable and comfortable! We stayed in the red caboose #1. Comfortable linens and quality towels. The kids enjoyed the stay. There are restaurants nearby, 5 minutes and about 45 minutes to the Grand Canyon. There is a microwave and small cold fridge! The air conditioner is fabulous! Kept us cool and comfortable! 3 televisions but one didn’t work and very limited channels. We didn’t need TV anyway, the views from this train car is fabulous! No table in the train car but it is on the back deck, which is perfect! A beautiful view and shaded by the beautiful trees. We didn’t eat outside

My reservation at canyon motel and RV park was for the RV Park. It is a commercial park so there are a lot of units in the small space as compared to a state or national Park. Given that I was very pleased with my location in the park, the women helping me register, and the fellow who drove me to where my space was. The motel portion of the facility is old train cars broken into motel rooms. They have an indoor pool for guests as well as the small store with many useful and tourist-styled items. I was very pleased with this motel and RV Park. It is very close to the business section of Williams

This is for the RV park, not the motel. Our site was very unloved, almpost like rolling down hill. And, to boot, there are railroad ties between sites, so out black tank would not roll in to the sewer receptacle... It had yo hump over the ties, which made flow impossible almost. I also think thwe entire place needs an update, like a fresh coat of paint, everywhere. It has kind of a cute theme, with all the railroad stuff, but it would be much nicer if it were fresh, clean, and updated. Not sure we will stay here again, might try out the place just down the road next time.

Cute place to camp and the staff is very friendly. The only part that gets me is when the light automatically turns off while showering. This concerns me because it's not safe to shower in the dark and you have to stick your arm out to turn the light back on. I know the park is trying to conserve energy, but it's an easy fix.

We booked a room last February for a wedding in June, due to the Covid19 debacle, the wedding had to be cancelled for now. The fine print from Canyon Motel & RV Park says that if you cancel up to a week before your stay, they keep 50% of the total fees, which I knew at the time of the reservation, HOWEVER, with this whole "Act of God" Covid19 thing going on, I feel that we should have had a full refund since it was out of our control. I know it's not a whole lot of money, but with everyone not working, any amount of money out of our pocket still hurts.

We loved our stay here. We were welcomed with such kindness. Check in was easy, and there's a really cute store inside with lots of supplies, food, snacks and drinks :) The park itself is clean, nice big spaces and the bathroom/shower/laundry area are extremely clean. There are views of the mountains everywhere! Thank you :)

This place is super cool! I stayed here a couple nights and I am impressed with everyone that works here! Shirly and Kevin are the owners and I got to meet them on my visit here. They are really nice people and a delight to be around! The rooms are clean and very comfortable. You have a nice mini fridge and microwave so you can make some snacks and what Very clean bathrooms also! Best part is you can stay in rooms that are really old trains from 1929! I would recommend staying here! Really cool historic place! Also lots of room for RV parking and tent camping in the back!

We have stayed at this RV park several times and it has been a good experience both times. We were escorted to our space which made it very easy to start setting up our trailer. There are full hookups and we were told that we had to have our sewer line up off the ground, which is a local Health Dept regulation. It's close to Grand Canyon and Highway 40 plus an easy drive into Williams.
We would stay here again.

Pros-this hotel is very clean and the bed is made everyday and clean towels. The grounds are very nice. They offer a laundry for the hotel/RV park and shower for RV's without showers. The check-in office is also a little store and gift shop. Overall on the plus side is a rustic place.
Cons- this place is on the far side of town and not waking distance to the shops and restaurants on historical Route 66. When entering the hotel/RV park, you are immediately told to move your vehicle the the visitor parking lot. RVs are given a full pass to stop at the check-in spot. I found this very off

First let me say that I've been to 30-40 RV parks with my RV, some good and some not so good, but I have never written a review about any of them until now!
When I found this park it looked decent enough ....but this place is like a communist RV park! They get your money and then follow you around finding things you did wrong just to make you feel bad. Then you start to feel really uncomfortable and/or basically had enough and want to leave and they then "proudly refuse to refund your money". Look, if it's not a good fit, call it a day, refund your guests money so they can

We enjoyed our stay in the RV park very much! The site was pull through with full hookups and 50 amp service. The site are gravel but fairly level. The staff was extremely friendly and willing to help you make arrangements for any tours if you wanted to take any! They were all great! We will definitely go back again and are eve considering a seasonal spot! Very nice location! You need to stop in and enjoy the town of Williams, and all it has to offer plus meet all the friendly staff at the campground!
Thanks Mary for making us feel welcome.

We love visiting Williams,AZ. This was our first time staying in our Fifth wheel at this RV park. It was very nice. We love the feeling of the trees around us. Made us feel in the mountains more. The staff is very friendly and try very hard to help us if we need something.
We would recommend this place to anyone. We plan on staying more when they have spots available for us.

I'm looking at these other reviews, of people complaining about wifi connection, and I'm trying to figure out why they left their homes in the first place.
People, this is camping!
So for those of you who enjoy outdoor living, this is a perfectly fine campsite for a decent amount.
Everything is gravel, but the sites were nice and long and easy pull thoughs for even the biggest of big rigs. We were a 42 ft motorhome towing a 25 ft trailer and we didn't have to disconnect. We fit fine.
They had no problem with Peterbilt, our 100lb Rottweiler.
Playground = check.
Indoor pool = check
