North Lake Tahoe is the area that extends East from the Nevada border near Incline Village and Crystal Bay traveling through the communities of Kings Beach, Tahoe Vista, Agate Bay, Carnelian Bay, Cedar Flat, Dollar Hill, the Highlands, Lake Forest and the areas surrounding downtown Tahoe City. The homes in North Lake Tahoe often have the old Tahoe feel, although there are many newer developments in North Lake Tahoe too.
The West Shore of Lake Tahoe offers some of the oldest and most prestigious estates on the Lake. Neighborhoods extend between Tahoe City and Emerald Bay and include Talmont, Tahoe Pines, Sunnyside, Chambers Landing, Tahoma and Twin Peaks Estates to name a few. Buying a home in Truckee appeals to those who want close proximity to shopping and excellent restaurants while still enjoying the charm of Lake Tahoe. Truckee offers many old Victorian homes and Truckee River front homes, but it is perhaps the charm of the downtown area that attracts so many second home owners to this area.
The community of Northstar includes many options for those looking for the perfect resort property at Lake Tahoe and Truckee. The area of Northstar includes a rambling hillside of very well appointed older homes with adjacent luxury and newer developments. Its biggest draw is being at the foot of Northstar Ski Resort with ski in and ski out access.
