They have a great location but for the price of rooms, things are seriously lacking. Also it's nice to be able to walk to most things in town and even over to the hot springs pool. It took FOREVER to check-in. Thankfully, in comparison to other reviews we still had a room to check-in to. Still, I am so surprised at how expensive this place (and other places in town) for the quality. The room we had was very outdated. Also, if you hate noise and footsteps, request a second floor room (and hopefully you wont have any mice or other rodents!)

We took a family vacation here. The kids loved it. The family who owns the motel are very nice and have added some nice touches. The flowers on the property and along the rivers edge are gorgeous! The owners host a community campfire in the evenings. The hot tubs are open 24 hours. You can't beat the views! Ouray is a magical place and this is a great place to stay during your visit and very convenient to all attractions.

What a hidden beautiful gem! This is a family owned business, the owner and daughter have done a fantastic job of making this feel so warm and welcoming. Charming with a bit of rustic mountain element. Our room was 2 queen beds with a couch, small kitchenette, small table, just right. No problem with hot water! Hot tubs, gas fire pit right next to the river. The view was spectacular! Definitely coming back.

Came into town with no reservations, farted around for an hour trying to find a decent hotel. Found this place the rooms are super clean, super spacious, two hot tubs on the creek, room on the creek, free breakfast! Nice grounds well-maintained, don't screw around when you come to Ouray just book this freaking hotel!! Hope this saves the next person some hassle...

Wound up here last minute after the campground and another hotel fell through... and so glad we did. The room was small but clean and comfortable, flowers and grounds are pretty, riverbank is nice, and breakfast was a great perk. The best was the 24-hour outdoor hot tub - perfect place to watch the moon rise and relax after a stressful day.

Be very wary about booking this place through any of the online booking sites. I booked a room here in October of 2017 for a business trip I have scheduled starting on August 10th, 2018...yep, almost a year in advance. I just received notice, less than a month out, that they were cancelling my reservation. No reason given. Upon further investigation, I discovered that this is a very common practice with Rivers Edge. To allow customers to book a room in advance at a low rate, then depending on how busy they are to cancel reservations to try to get a better rate from someone else. At best it

Under new ownership. The rooms aren't as clean as they were under the previous owners, nor are the grounds and flowers as well cared for. Another annoyance was the $5.00 undisclosed resort fee. And the pet fee was raised from $10.00 to $14.00 with sales tax added to the $14.00. My $119.00 room for one night ended up at $153.00.

We waited for almost an hour before someone showed up at the check-in.
They have a phone there to call
if no one is there, which we did for at least 15 times.
We even called the emergency number they posted also.
But no one answered any calls.
Then we went to the bar next door to ask
if they know anything.
And when they finally showed up they were very unfriendly, only said "there is a phone, you should have called" and no excuse after we told them that we did.
At the breakfast, which was included, they ran out of bread and bagels pretty fast and some guests (of our group and others

I don't even want to give this business 1 star. They completely ruined our anniversary vacation. We drove 7 hrs from AZ to this hotel to find they booked us for the following weekend. We have a newborn and found ourselves in Ouray with no place to stay at 9pm at night. Not only were they not accommodating, they were rude. While we were in their office, another man was in there who they had booked incorrectly leaving him without a room in town. We had to drive an hour south just to get a room. Last minute booking during peak fall season means we have to move every night to a different hotel

Super rough night. The place is great except that there are 2 floors. I could hear people walking on our heads, showering, walking up & down the metal stairs. Came for a getaway, now I need a good night sleep before the drive back. The guy at the front was extremely kind & helpful.
I would definitely stay here again but on the 2 nd floor!!

I DO NOT recommend this place at all. Nothing about their establishment is even remotely decent. We made a reservation for a Saturday/Sunday which we then wanted to change to Friday/Saturday they said that they had no openings and could not change our reservation and that they have a 30 day cancellation policy with Expedia even though the email says changes and cancellations are per the hotels policy. I doubt their policy is 30 days although it might be since Mike and Dave are extremely rude. Dave hung up the phone on me while I was trying to ask him how a 30
day cancellation policy makes any sense

This place is fantastic! The grounds are so charming with bundles of beautiful flowers, vines, and fountains everywhere not to mention the gorgeous green grass and perfect riverfront property. We could hear the babbling river all night with the windows open, it was so peaceful. The grounds are well-designed so that you can be comfortable sitting anywhere and always have a view and perfect temperature.
The grounds and layout of this gorgeous property are enough, but the service is amazing, the breakfast convenient, the room service menu is delicious, and all the little details are taken care of
