Covington Creek Veterinary Hospital
Covington Creek Veterinary Hospital's vision is to treat every patient with dignity and first-rate care. The staff at CCVH are highly-trained and enjoy what they do. We understand that for many pets (and their people too), visiting a veterinarian can be a stressful experience. Our comfortable surroundings and compassionate medical professionals will make the process as easy as possible.

Dr. Chaves obtained his undergraduate degree in Biology from George Washington University in 1996, and his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 2002. He has practiced medicine in five states and is happy to have finally settled in California.
Services
Covington Creek Veterinary Hospital is committed to caring for each pet as if they were our own, with compassion and dignity. We take medicine, anesthesia and surgery very seriously at CCVH. Behind-the-scenes shortcuts are not taken. The highest quality equipment and supplies are used. Everything is painstakingly researched in advance.
Appointments are required for dropping off and picking up your pet. These are actual appointments that allow the smooth functioning of the entire facility and are specific times, not a time range. Pets are boarded at our facility 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and are checked a minimum of twice a day.
For current clients with an emergency, we will make every effort to see you. Please call us first if possible. Current clients are those people that bring their pets to our hospital for regular care, annual visits, vaccines, etc. We see non-clients on emergency during working hours if there is available space in the schedule.

I appreciate the clear/consistently followed procedures. I was initially concerned I couldn't be with my pet during her examination but I received a thorough briefing following Missy's appointment followed up with a point by point email of our discussion including links to the topics for clarification, in support of recommendations.

Always there for your pets. Dr Chaves answers questions by phone, in person and on the internet. He is there for emergencies as well as general care. Extremely knowledgeable and stays up to date, and isn't shy about calling another vet when he has to. Recently, my dog needed a specialized shot that he didn't have on hand so he called another vet nearby to arrange for me to get the necessary shot for my dog. Bedside manner is fantastic. His staff is prompt, caring and great about taking care of my account with them. When traveling, I can call his staff, ask a question, they will either answer it

For planned surgery’s they were fine.
If your pet needs euthanasia however , good luck.
No compassion. No call backs.
We watched our 20 year old cat die a slow death and it was very painful and stressful for our Maui and us.
These people appear to be in it just for the money.
No compassion or true caring.
They seem like really nice people. UNTIL YOU NEED THEM.

Taking your animals to this establishment is like playing Russian Roulette. Most of the time they're... adequate. If your pet needs a check up, or a shot, sure. But if your dog is hurt, or needs serious medical care? I don't recommend rolling the dice.

I wish I could give this zero stars. Not professional, not helpful. The first time I brought one of my dogs here, they just said she was going to die. So I ended going home and running my own IV and nursing her back to health.
They don’t communicate well and they take no responsibility for it. I brought my other dog here (don’t know why after my first experience) because he had a torn ligament or broken bone and I wanted to get an X-ray to confirm and all they said was “sorry, the appointment is actually next week”.
I won’t even say this place is overpriced because it’s not worth

Went to this individual due to a five star rating. However my experience was anything but , I feel I over paid for a full exam, the doctor did not fully look inside my Dogs hears take my dogs temperature or fully examine the spots on my dogs belly. Also your word is your bond so when the doctor tells the patient he is going to email them with grass weight management and help you get your dog on a program. And then just dismisses you out of hand again nothing but incompetence.. Business model practice that I see festering through the United States. Once again
