Serving the Shenandoah Valley since 1939, my grandfather, George Heatwole, starting auctioneering by conducting Estate Auctions. In 1968, my father began performing auctions with George handling antiques and collectables. They opened their first auction house in the 1970's in Dayton known as Triple H Auction Services.
It's owners were George Heatwole, Dick Heatwole & Harry Heatwole. As a youngster, I was involved in the auctions by holding up items to sell, moving boxes and furniture and going to houses to pickup and pack the items to bring to the auction house for sale. In 1981, my family bought the schoolhouse on Pleasant Hill Road known as Old School Auction.

Our goal is to provide the most cost-effective, and safest move in the area. We realize that moving can be a very stressful time, so we do everything we can to make it as stress-free as possible. We also realize that in a relatively small market if you provide great customer service, then you will receive positive feedback and referrals.
We at Affordable Moving LLC would be honored to provide our moving service to you. Our price is based on an affordable hourly rate that covers the job from start to finish and includes our truck, a driver and required laborers to complete your move. Additional costs for travel outside of Harrisonburg, moving specialized items, moving to specialized locations, etc. may apply and will be disclosed prior to your move.

Wow! We had a huge amount of stuff thanks to my hoarder of a wife. It was all heavy and covered in dust and Rick and his team moved things quickly and professionally. I don't think anything has a scratch, dent, or blood stain that it didn't already have. I've never seen people move so quickly and efficiently with this level of care as a bonus! I can't recommend Affordable Moving enough!

Rick Heatwole, owner of Affordable Moving, is a real gem. When my mother-in law had to move from Assisted Living at Sunnyside, the family was faced with having to move and disposition the contents of her apartment without being allowed to come onto the campus due to Covid visitation restrictions. Rick worked with us to do all the sorting and packing we could not do.
