Services
The San Diego Psychiatric Society is dedicated to promoting the highest quality care for people with mental disorders and to serving the professional needs of San Diego's psychiatric physicians. That all residents of San Diego will have universal access to quality psychiatric care and prevention at least in part as a result of the San Diego Psychiatric Society's successful advocacy as the voice of California's psychiatric physicians.
Committees are the backbone of the San Diego Psychiatric Society. The work of committees has a direct impact on the decisions made by the Officers and Council. The San Diego Psychiatric Society is a professional association in the State of California that focuses exclusively on the needs of physicians who specialize in psychiatry. The Society addresses all aspects of psychiatric care. Our membership includes public, academic, military and private practice psychiatrists, as well as psychiatric residents and fellows.
Because the San Diego Psychiatric Society is a district branch of the American Psychiatric Association, when you are a member, you will enjoy the combined benefits of both organizations. Discounts on CME events, including the annual American Psychiatric Association meeting and Institute on Psychiatric Services meeting.
These are physicians who have been accepted into a psychiatric residency training program that is approved by the ACGME, RCPS(C) or AOA and remain enrolled therein. Residents enrolled in a one- year primary care training program, followed by an approved psychiatric residency are eligible for Resident-Fellow status.
