Established in 1939 by James Franklin Pugh, Pugh Heating & Air Conditioning started when James took a job at the Baker Furnace Company. James took an electrical engineering course at the University of Toledo and built the first spot welder for the Baker Company. Following his father's footsteps in the 1960s, George Pugh learned the HVAC industry from the ground up.
George served as the president for 23 years before passing the torch to Mark Nowak in 1994. Mark served as president/CEO for 23 years and passed the company over to Dave Overfield in 2017. We called to report a problem. It was after normal business hours. The technician arrived about 30 min after our call and fixed the issue quickly. The work was covered by the equipment warranty. Quick response, problem fixed, no cash out of pocket. Win-win-win!

The techs from Pugh came in with booties and masks and within a short time had diagnosed the issue with the furnace. They went to retrieve the part and completed the task making sure to run furnace and check CO2 level. Super impressed with Mike's knowledge.

Our A/C stopped working today, which was a Sunday. I called this company, fully expecting to just leave a voicemail but was pleasantly surprised to speak with someone. Within 15 minutes, I received a call back from Mike and he was able to come to our house within an hour or so and get us back up and running. I also work on call and I know it’s not awesome to have your weekend interrupted but he was very kind and very professional and we’re so grateful for the excellent service we received. Would absolutely recommend them and will be using them again.

Josh installed the new HVAC system in my 1950s house along with Joe. They were so responsible, respectful, knowledgeable, and kind! Brendan assisted with tweaking something a couple months later. He was also so respectful and personable! Company attributes like that are hard to come by nowadays. Thank you so much gentlemen!

As a construction consultant and independent inspector who mainly is involved with disputes between contractors and home or business owners, I am always apprehensive about hiring contractor to do work on my own house. When we needed a new air conditioner and furnace, I did a lot of checking around with people I know and narrowed my list to two contractors, with Pugh being one of them.
Everything went rather smoothly. One piece of equipment arrived damaged from the factory but the installers notified me as soon as they unpackaged the damaged equipment and were on the phone to the main office immediately

We had family visiting from out of town and the air conditioner stopped working on a Thursday afternoon. Called Pugh Heating & Air Conditioning early Friday morning and their HVAC service person was here by early afternoon and replaced the faulty part to correct the problem. Excellent service at a reasonable price. I highly recommend the Pugh organization.

Not the most honest company! They can not tell you the price of parts or the cost of installation. They just give you a number that pops in their computer. They are over priced compared to many other companies around town. Do some research before deciding to go with them. I believe I was over charged to do a simple part installation. To verify I asked them to quote me on another project i was planning on around my house. I was not surprised when they quoted me $250 more than my highest of 3 other quotes. Save some money and call around I guarantee u will find what you need for a whole lot less

Jay Gast is amazing!!! I will be calling Pugh for all of my heating and cooling needs and will highly recommend them to anyone looking. They worked us in at 11 o'clock on a Saturday night and still had the best service ever! Forever thankful that he was able to get our air back up and running so quickly!

Used Pugh for a new furnace and air conditioning unit about 10 years ago. Minor issues with the installation, but nothing to prohibit recommending the shop. Have used them for preventative maintenance and emergency work since then, and am always pleased with their responsiveness and the caliber of the tech that comes out. Very thorough and professional.
