Services
When you are faced with a difficult legal issue involving family law, estate planning or criminal charges, having an experienced attorney on your side to staunchly protect your rights isn't an option - it's a necessity.

At the law firm of Prater, Ridley & Llamas - Attorneys at Law - based in Temple, Texas - we have been providing high-quality representation and aggressive advocacy in the areas of family law, criminal law, and probate and estate administration to individuals and families throughout Central Texas since 1993.
With the notable exception of adoption, most family law matters are extremely difficult and emotionally troubling to the people they affect. Although nearly half of all marriages end in divorce, few people seriously consider what this might mean - let alone what to plan for - should it happen to them.
When service members stationed in Central Texas decide to separate, divorce or manage another family law matter, they are often met with a patchwork of state laws governing everything from the division of property to parental rights. When deployments or changes of station occur, questions concerning jurisdiction often arise, only further complicating an already complex situation.
Anyone who has been charged with a crime knows how damaging a criminal record can be. A criminal history can affect your career, your family life, where you live, where you are able to travel and other facets of life. If you have been charged with a crime in Texas, there may be options available that would keep your criminal record sealed from public view.
If you have not yet made plans for the distribution of your estate or are concerned that your existing will may not be adequate to fulfill your wishes, talk to a professional estate planning lawyer at Prater, Ridley & Llamas - Attorneys at Law about your situation. Our experienced estate planning attorneys provide comprehensive legal services to our clients seeking guidance in and help with estate planning and probate administration.

We worked with Attorney Pat Ridley for over 3 years through a very difficult family court situation spanning multiple states and multiple cases. He and his team were beyond incredible and we're with us every step of the way. They listened to our sides of the situation and our experiences and also provided critical guidance when our complex situation seemed to hit a wall. They kept fighting for us, and in the end we won our cases and my daughter's adoption became a reality. Our family feels beyond blessed to have had this great team behind us during one of the most important fights of our lives

Dear Google,
Can you offer an option to have less then a single star? I would hate to mislead any future hopefuls!!
Don’t waste your money. A consult with her will promise the world and be wrapped up in a gooey albeit fecal appearance of sympathy.
She has no ability to separate personal feelings with business matters and WHEN that occurs, her efforts or what little were there to begin with, will fall off completely.
She is unprepared, spends hearings shuffling papers.
Her personal appearance is in complete disarray. She makes no efforts to prep her clients for hearings, while simultaneously

Helped me gain custody of my daughter, and there is no value you can place on that. Forever grateful! Huge shout out to Ramona for being exceptional and having to deal with my ex more than anyone else.

I highly recommend Carol Prater for any divorce involving children. Her experience was invaluable as she was able to set up a schedule for child custody that was in everyone's best interest. The children see both parents equally and they have absolutely thrived both in school and elsewhere since the divorce. None of this would have been possible without Carol's advice and experience.
I will also add that even though it has been 5 years since my divorce case was closed, Carol's office remains responsive and helpful with any issues that arise. Overall a great team to have on your side.

I had a very odd divorce. My ex filed in Texas, but was not a resident there. I had to obtain legal representation in Texas to represent me, even though I was out-of-state. Mr. Ridley knows his stuff! He did a great job and got the divorce pushed back to where it was supposed to be. He and his staff were very nice and he did a great job of keeping me informed about what all was happening. I could not be happier with the service he provided. 10/10

Just to get a minimum consultation is over $400. If you want their best attorney, expect to pay $14,000 minimum retainer UP FRONT. The other attorneys are $7000 upfront or they will not help you. The receptionist tells you this right up front on the first call... this means they are not interested in spending any time with you unless you plan to spend a lot of money. Thanks guys.... I guess regular average people just get drug around the dirt of the legal system.

May God bless you. I wish more attorneys could be as good as you. I highly recommend Carol Prater for any case involving child custody.
