I established Andover Children's Academy in 1992 to provide high-quality child care services to families, as well as a superior education and training for the students. The focus of every activity at our center is on quality care. Our families will experience a level of personal attention that treats them as valued and invited members, not only meeting but exceeding their expectations.

ACA is committed to providing an educational environment that recognizes cultural and national diversity and to developing and maintaining programs, services, and practices that promote respect for people of all backgrounds. ACA offers care for children ages 1 month to 5 years old, as well as a private, one of a kind kindergarten program for children from five to seven years old.
Services
When I asked both the parents and the teachers, "What makes ACA different and special?" the first sentiment out of everybody's mouth was, "It is a family, not just a day care!" You really, truly take care of each other. Helping your elderly aunt to do shopping; driving your sick cousin to a doctor's appointment; bringing food to your mother's second cousin in a nursing home; having a big happy and crazy Thanksgiving party.
ACA prides itself on well-rounded, multi-faceted curricula that includes learning through books, music, art projects, nature, science, social studies, movement, and cooking. Dramatic play, blocks, puppets, and props are also used to enhance engagement and understanding. We focus on cognitive development, creative language, math concepts, self-help skills, physical development, self-esteem building, small motor skills, and discipline.
The main focus of our Infant Group is helping each child reach his or her age appropriate developmental milestones. Our educators nurture gross motor skills such as sitting, crawling, standing, and walking, as well as fine motor skills including holding a bottle, using a spoon to pick food up off a tray, and turning pages in a book.
As social skills develop rapidly in this age group, our Preschool program teaches the importance of good manners, sharing with others, and conflict resolution (I want your toy, so I will give you mine). Children participate in structured, teacher-led activities such as circle time that are designed to foster listening and comprehension.
As their cognitive skills continue to develop, the foundations of their self-esteem, perception of the world, and moral outlook are established as well. During this year, the children learn the basics of phonics, counting, and story writing, and investigate the world around them through creative play.

My two older kids went to ACA years ago and loved it,so when my third one was born it was clear to me that she will be attending that same daycare. It feels like home(the same wonderful teachers from years ago still there!!)With so many kids graduating each year, how do they remember everyone by name???But THEY DO!
The stuff always care and make sure kids not only safe but happy and involved in activities!
The best child care place you can wish for !

P.S.My older kids who are high school kids by now,LOVE to go there and visit(a lot of great memories!!)

Its a GREAT place. First of all, I have two kids who also attended Melrose YMCA and Andover Kindercare, so I feel that I have seen some things I can compare. At first I did not look at ACA because of location Lawrence vs Andover. But then we met someone at the library and it was recomended to us. The things I like 1) wonderful teachers. I feel my kids are being treated very nicely. What more can you say. 2) they have a cook onsite that preps hot meals!! No "bring from home lunches" - which I personally like a lot, less pain in my life 3). The place is VERY affordable. This question

I have 2 sons. My older went to ACA for 3 years starting out in pre-K when we moved to the area. When I had my second child it was not even a discussion for us about where to send him while we are at work. ACA has been like extended family for us. We love all the teachers and never have to worry about the kids while they are in the good care of the staff at ACA. My kids have always come home happy and what could be more important than coming back to see your kids have had a great day. This is the one place which offers a huge amount and variety of field trips from taking the kids to Boston Commons
