Meet the experienced and friendly doctor and staff who make Definitive Vision the leading provider of vision care products and services in Omaha. Originally from the Omaha area, Dr. Elwood attended Midland Lutheran College in Fremont, NE, followed by the University of Missouri St. Louis College of Optometry where he graduated with honors in 2003.

In addition to assessing your visual acuity, Dr. Shannon Elwood will test for common eye diseases, assess how your eyes are functioning together, and more. Serious health issues like diabetes and high blood pressure are often first detected during an eye exam. The American Optometric Association (AOA) recommends children have their eyes examined at 6 months old, three years old, at the start of school, and every two years until age 18.

Getting your eyes checked can be quite the hassle and i had a wonderful experience at my appointment today! from the moment i walked in, every person who helped me was extremely welcoming, kind, and thorough! the optometrist ensured that i understood my conditions and how my new prescription fulfills my needs. the optician (?) was so helpful at suggesting frames that fit my aesthetic that i would hire him as a personal stylist. also appreciated that the staff was masked :)

Completely satisfied with my choice to go to Definitive. Dr was throughly complete in her exam. Answered my questions and made suggestions to further help me with my eye condition. Assistant was also very pleasant and explained my bill to me, even helped to choose glasses he thought were complimentary to me. I would be comfortable suggesting Definitive if you are looking.

What a great experience! I called Definitive Vision shortly before they closed on a Friday because something on my daughters glasses broke. They said they could likely fix it, so we hurried down. One of the gentleman that worked there replaced the broken part in a few minutes and also replaced the same part on the opposite side so they matched. He did this free of charge and while knowing that we weren’t originally customers there. Such an awesome experience and my daughter was so relieved to have her glasses fixed!

Definitive Vision is awesome. Dr. and staff are extremely nice, helpful and very accommodating. Recently I needed to reschedule my daughter's appointment due to travel plans and they were able to squeeze her in before her flight. They have a good selection of frames as well. If you need a change, definitely consider Definitive Vision.
