There was an unfortunate misunderstanding regarding my appointment between myself and an employee at the salon. But Steve, the owner, was very friendly and quickly got involved to resolve the issue. Eventually i got a partial highlight and haircut. Karina did a great job. I like the layers she did to my hair. The color is nice too. The salon is very clean, it feels safe and comfortable in the pandemic era.

This place never disappoints. Every time I visit, the staff is warm and professional and Steve always makes you feel like you are the most important customer he has for the day. I'm thankful that they take the covid-19 precautions so seriously. Everyone always wears a mask and the shop is always clean. They even make sure that they offer you a disposable mask so that you don't end up with hair all over your reusable one. Thanks for going the extra mile!

I had a very frustrating experience with this salon. I called three weeks in advance to make an appointment. They told me they would honor the Groupon price $79 for partial highlight and haircut. And just a day before my appointment, they called me and said they cannot honor that price anymore and asked for $200 at least for the same service. They argued that they don't know who told me the $79 price. I think WS Hairstyling salon is very unprofessional in handling this. They don't seem to keep promises they made to their customers. Now I have to search for another salon. WS Hairstyling Salon wasted

Been coming here since I moved to NYC and extremely happy with the service. I've seen Jacob a few times when I had longer hair and he always does a great job and was the first person to ever "thin" out my thick hair so I could actually keep it long but it would still hold up in a tight pony. He has great suggestions and always have a pleasant convo with him too.
I just went to Karina for the first time and she did a wonderful job taking me from long to medium length. She was great with helping visualize what will look best on me especially since I tend to have a low maintenance/ air-dry approach

The most friendly stuff, and great quality!
When I came to the salon and asked the master to make a very specific type of blow dry she did an excellent job. I needed to make the same hairstyling job for my other few performances and the owner was super kind and made me a discount. I was impressed by the positive attitude of its masters and how they try to find the solution to make their clients happy. Thank you very much!

This was a Groupon find and I was hoping to find a new go-to place. I scheduled partial highlights/cut/blow out. They had mentioned when I booked that I would have to pay more for the recommended toner, which I understood. Also, I have long, thick (fine- just a lot of it) hair, and expected to be nickeled and dimed for that as well, as I have been before (SOMETIMES it's totally reasonable). Julia did a good job and was detailed but then at checkout the gentleman / maybe owner was rude as I asked if I could use the yelp check in discount he said no because there was already a big daily discount applied , I said fine. Then charged me for the blowout following partial highlights and root touch up saying it was only included with full highlights. This was after Julia told me the blowout was included. He then along with another stylist (women in ad) further pointed out what a great deal I got and the women backed it up with "it's on the website". Super odd, rude and uncomfortable

I came here for a haircut bc they have an NYU student discount. The hair stylist was a delight throughout the whole cut, however, I left disappointed with my haircut and the experience.
I asked them to keep the asymmetry of my haircut (which didn't happen - totally symmetrical now) and just for a bit of a cut (which ended up turning my shoulder length hair into a bob).
When I told the hair stylist I didn't like my hair style and explained why, instead of offering to help fix it or offering a discount, he looked at my student ID and said "well, your hair looks better now than it did

Jacob, my stylist, was incredibly friendly and did a fantastic job shaping and reviving my hair in under 30 minutes. He made me into a regular - I'll definitely be returning for another cut soon!

I've never loved a salon experience before I came here!! I went for a shampoo and haircut by Ami. He was professional, kind and instantly makes you feel at ease. This salon is all the fab without the up-tight attitude.
Ami is a confident, knowledgeable hair stylist who knew exactly the problems with my hair and how to fix it. He took his time, and made sure I walked away with a 100% flawless haircut.
Also, the price (mine was $80) for the quality of service is the best in that area. (Believe me I've done the frustrating research, $300 haircuts ha!)

Yana (spelled Iana) is amazing !! Excellent couloirist and hair stylist, total package especially if your looking for coloring and styling together. I go to many salons and she is far one of my favorites. I did the blonde face framing balayage and the results were spectacular. Will definitely come back again.

I came here with a groupon for a partial highlight, cut & blowout. HEADS UP LADIES- if you have hair that is passed your shoulders, be ready to buck up an additional $20. i did not see this initially on the groupon deal, but only when i got to the voucher page. my hair is so dead straight and easy to work with i hoped they cut me some slack, but nope.

I've been going to Ami for over 10 years now... He knows my hair like no other and what's weird is that my haircuts seem to get better every time. At WS they always over drinks or refreshments and the neighborhood is a nice quiet break from other spots in Manhattan. I highly recommend getting your haircut here.. It's also a good value.

Purchased a Lifebooker voucher and did extensive research on this place, coming to the conclusion that Karina could do the job well. After booking my appointment and then shifting it a few times the day of, I walked in feeling like I'd already loved this place for being so accommodating and friendly over the phone.

This is my go to place to get my hair done. I definitely recommend it! I have been coming here for a year and a half.
The staff is always friendly and my stylist Karina is the best! She makes recommendations and I always leave happy with her work. I have also seen some of the other stylist work at the salon and they always do a good job.

I tried this place because it is close to my apartment and got very good reviews. Unfortunately, it seems the good reviews are for haircuts and NOT hair color/highlights. I went here for highlights and my hair ended up orange. I walked out looking like the time I tried sun-in when I was 12 years old (see picture). My hairstylist could tell I was not happy but suggested I let it settle in for a week and look at it in the natural light. If I still wasn't happy she said I could come back and she would fix it.

I was extremely impressed with this salon and my stylist. Ami did a wonderful job with my hair! He took time to discuss the cut to make sure it was just right. The salon also offers a glass of wine--a lovely touch! Great value, particularly for a very expensive part of town. I'm definitely going back!
