We create spaces functional in ways you didn't know you needed, more beautiful than you ever imagined. There are no cookie-cutter solutions here. Our design process starts with a thorough understanding of your project's history, the constraints and opportunities presented by the setting, and, most important, your objectives and aesthetic preferences.
Working with a small firm like ours mean your project gets the individual attention it deserves. As a client, you work directly with the firm's principal and project architect, collaborating as much (or as little) as you like every step of the way. Our goal is to anticipate your needs and exceed your expectations.

Central to the Pickell Architecture philosophy is a respect for, and an appreciation of, the value of historic building styles, traditions and practices. The firm is sensitive to the past, to local conditions, to the social and natural environment and combines these attitudes with a practical knowledge of current construction practices and technologies.

I am a developer. Chris has designed 3 houses for me. The houses are creatively designed and also utilitarian. And beautiful.
Chris's house designs are different from McMansion designs that have detracted from the beauty of what is left of the natural NJ countryside. His houses have proven that we can save what is left of New Jersey's natural beauty. And, people love these houses when they see what is possible.
