C & M Recycling was founded in 1970 in Mundelein, Illinois. Originally located west of Butterfield Road on Route 60, C & M began as a humble operation. With a single truck, a small office, an inadequate storage yard and big dreams, C & M established itself as a local, dependable recycling company for all types of businesses in the Lake County area.
Paper is the most common material in our trash. Because of this, in order to significantly reduce the amount of trash in our landfills, we need to recycle it. Once the paper is received at our recycling plant, it is sorted, graded, processed and delivered to a paper mill. Once at the paper mill it is added to water and then turned into pulp.
C&M's plastic recycling division can provide you with a cost-saving alternative to disposal of your plastic waste in landfills. In many cases C&M can rebate its customers for plastic waste. C&M Recycling will collect plastic parts, regrind and resins. This could mean melting down soft drink bottles and then casting them as plastic chairs and tables.
The scrap metal business is the nation's oldest recycling industry. Each year, millions of tons of scrap are recycled into new metal products. The receptionist was really nice and answered all my questions in regards to recycling. The "rent-a-cop" they hired as a security guard was a total butt plug. No customer service whatsoever. But the worker who helped me unload my truck was very nice, unfortunately I didn't get his name. From now on I'll take my recycling needs somewhere else.

I had no idea what I was doing going in, and there were all sorts of people recycling scrap metal there and it's dirty and industrial (but it's garbage basically, so it's to be expected) so it was very intimidating. But every person I spoke to was super friendly and helped me out. I had some heavy things (metal) I needed to throw out basically and I didn't want to pay someone to come to my house and take it away and charge me an arm and a leg. So I loaded it up in my minivan and took it over. The minivan was out of place, as there were semis and pickup trucks all around, recycling way more than

Ladies and gentlemen, this is a gruff place. If you're expecting service that comes with a waiting room and a cup of coffee, you made the wrong choice in coming here.
These guys and gals are the people who make our world go 'round. And even though I only brought about 60 pounds of iron I was taken care of quickly and politely. But they DON'T have time to waste on such light loads. So in fact, I assume they would prefer get the smaller people taken care of faster.
This place was great and I will definitely visit again.

They try to bundle all your metals into lower price categories. They are not bad if you only take one kind of metal, but beware if you bring multiple types of metal as they will try to bundle it all in the lowest cost grade and pay out on only that. Other places are better for more than one type of metal.
