With over 140 years of combined experience it is our honor to offer families an affordable option for funeral services provided with care, compassion and dignity. Jim has served in the funeral profession for 37 years. Formerly with one of the oldest firms in Ocala for 13 years, he established a reputation for his genuine compassion in assisting families.
Because we are a small, family-run funeral home, located just outside of Ocala, we are able to keep our overhead down while still providing quality merchandise and professional services in a comfortable atmosphere. In turn, our families save hundreds, even thousands, compared to other local funeral homes.

Green (or natural) burial emphasizes simplicity and environmental sustainability. The body is neither cremated nor prepared with chemicals such as traditional embalming fluids. Your loved one placed in a biodegradable coffin or shroud and buried without a vault. The grave site is allowed to return to nature.
A traditional funeral service includes basic use of funeral director and staff; transportation of deceased to funeral home within 50 miles; embalming and/or refrigeration; required professional vehicles within 50 miles; and use of staff and facilities for visitation and service. A memorial service implies that you are having a ceremony without the body present.

On the anniversary of the passing of our Sister Linda Tochman we would like to again thank the Byrne Family at Countryside Funeral Home for the beautiful way they care for our loved ones. They are such fine people. In our times of great sorrow they have taken care of our needs in such a calm, loving manner. We feel blessed to have them as part of our lives and our community.

They all were very nice and have always done a great job for other people. When my Aunts son passed away , they were absolutely amazing! Super shocked when my mom passed My mom passed October 21st 2019. I didn't receive all the flower arrangements or the arrangement made for the urn. They didn't play one song I requested. My mother asked me to play 4 songs by Elvis Presley and i added more songs. All we heard was Allen Jackson. They never told me I could've seen my mother when I went to talk with them and bring stuff that they needed.

Grateful to my parents who had set up their funeral arrangements years in advance via Countryside as they were living in Anthony back then.
When my Dad passed in May at a nursing home it was comforting to know that a family member from Countryside drove the 2 hours to retrieve his body in the middle of the night.
From there, Kelsey @ Countryside assisted us with such compassion & comfort.
Because of the restrictions with Covid & some arrangements were changed we were issued a refund of some of the prepaid costs.
After meeting at Countryside in Anthony I could only feel grateful that Dad was

Losing a loved one is one of the most difficult times in a person's life. Having a great funeral home be there for you during this time can mean the difference between this time being sad yet beautiful and just plain sad! We chose Countryside Funeral home to handle our father's funeral services and they were nothing short of amazing! We worked with Kelsey and she was so incredibly patient and compassionate during the planning phase. Not to mention it took us 3 weeks to raisethe funds to cover his expenses! They didn't rush us or anything. When the day came to bury our dad, the service was so beautiful

When my wife passed away they were very attentive to my wishes with her cremation and was also very reasonably priced. They were timely collecting her after her passing at home and were also professional but also felt like they were taking care of her like she was one of their own family that passed away. My father passed away on 9/1/19 unexpectedly. We originally went to another funeral home to see what our options were. We felt as if all they were interested in is getting our money. A friend recommended we call Countryside Funeral home. We are so glad we did! They were so kind and compassionate. We felt like we were talking to our own family.

Jim Byrne and his family deserve our family's most heartfelt thanks and recommendation for their services upon the recent passing of my mother. In May of this year, I lost my son in a terrible accident. My son was so loved by everyone who knew him, and his passing has left a huge hole in our lives.
