Cathedral's most dominant sport. The Irish Swim Team has won 32 state championships since the mid 1980's. Our swimming team's history consists of 5 Olympic Trial Qualifiers with 2 swimmers going on to swim for Mexico in the Olympics, 23 High School All-Americans, and over 100 swimmers sent to college as athletes.
Cathedral High School teaches the young men of this bi-national region a strong sense of faith, service and community. Our innovative learning models rooted in the Lasallian tradition recognize that each student is created in the image of God with infinite worth.

With focus on positioning students for future opportunities, we cultivate the academic, college transition, career, spiritual, and life readiness of each student for an ever-changing global reality.Where there is need we serve, where there is ignorance we teach, and where there is despair we share our hope.
The Brothers of the Christian Schools, also known as the Christian Brothers, are a Catholic teaching order founded by St. John Baptiste de la Salle in seventeenth-century France. They first came to the United States in 1845, when they established a school in Baltimore, and by 1918 they had established five provinces in the United States: Baltimore, New York, St. Louis, San Francisco, and New Orleans-Santa Fe.
Since 1925, Cathedral has been more than a place of learning; for our current students and thousands of alumni, it is home. As the city's preeminent high school and one of the most recognizable high schools in the country, Cathedral exists to develop its students into exceptional leaders, citizens, and men.
Welcome back to another year in the educating and molding of the minds of our Cathedral young men. Last year presented all of us with numerous challenges. Not only did we face them, we excelled in spite of them. This year Cathedral begins it's 97th year of providing education. As we transition back to face to face instruction, we seek to find as much normalcy as possible.
