I worked for prime many years ago, I even received my million mile award from them. Loved the job but when it came down to being "captain of your own ship" that flew out the window. I don't run in bad icy winter months and try to be safe when I do, I lo,e to choose where I go and where I run, but when that approach was relayed to my dispatch, I sat for long periods of time, almost as a punishment. I would like to drive for prime again but what has changed or has not changed to make think twice about returning.

As a lease operator for 3 years, Its always one thing after the next. Mostly caused by the in-house department and that adds up to allot of money loss. (Examples) Loaded an out of service trailer, dispatch the same load twice and someone else takes the load, terminal losses the bills, they get you to take loads with no schedule appt times then after you except it they set it for 3 or 4 days longer than it should be on a 1k mile load (that one is very common). The equipment is nice but thats where most of the money you will be making will be going to because half the time you're talking the fall

I have time now. Been here for going on 2 yrs and have 7 yrs experience driving OTR. Prime is an excellent company in my honest opinion. I take 3-5 days off ea month and run pretty hard even having a few health issues as I’m nearing retirement. I’ve got a great FM and no Prime isn’t perfect but I know from my experience here they are at the very top in terms of safety & training & most other aspects in trucking. Stay safe drivers 🙏

So apparently me using foul language at the hotel and missing 1 job on my application was enough to wait till I got to Springfield and turned in the rental car to tell me they can’t hire me. Fine I can deal with that. what makes me mad and makes me want to tell anyone thinking of coming to Prime is don’t do it, is they said ok now that you are 18 hours away from your home your on your own getting home good luck. Thanks for nothing Prime. Please go anywhere else but here. Have a good day

Been w Prime for going on 5yrs. It’s a great company to work for. I’ve never had any issues w them other than the shop they have on site (at least hrs often 1-2wk waitlist and iffy mechanics). However you can just go to any shop off site in network and get what you need done. Out of all the major trucking companies I’d say Prime is by far the best. Can often come to the terminal and play a game a basketball w the owner of the company. Better not take it easy on him or he’ll eat you up haha.

I didn’t even get past the recruiting process. The recruiter Derek that I spoke with was condescending and unprofessional and seemed like he was trying to rush me off the phone the entire 4 minutes we were on the phone. Some of the information he was giving me didn’t line up with some of the things I read on their website. So, for the sake of… clarity, I asked questions. The moment he said, “I can’t explain it any simpler than this to you” I tuned out. Being the first person new recruits will talk to he definitely needs to be trained again on how to talk to

This company is a complete joke. Talked their recruiter Dustin and not only he couldn't answer most of my questions but one in particular. They won't hire you to lease on into the tanker division if your out of certain states due to "revenue" decisions. If you're a lease operator why would that matter if you run the truck how you want? That's the whole point of being a lease operator is to make decisions for your business. Why would you care what division someone works if they are lease? Then he tells me I would have to go through training again also (over 5yrs exp TT and tanker) which was a total

The worst company ever! The way they speak to people, the way they lack overall communication skills, the whole process of even “attempting” to sign up with them said it all! Stay as far away as intentionally possible! There are better companies, same size if not smaller that’ll treat you like your worth! I understand now why they are not a recommended company! Proceed with your “own” caution if nothing else

This is definitely not our grandfather's trucking terminal. I remember back in the early 80's, when my Pop-Pop took me along in his Preston 18 wheeler. We stopped in the driver's terminal and it looked like a big auto repair shop all over. Cigarettes put out on the floors, gloomy lighting, and a lot of road rugged drivers. Yeah, that's not this place. The exterior building, lot, and landscape has the appeal of any corporate company. Walking into the main entrance is as equally nice.
