MotionArts Dance Academy

School owner and director Kristin Iovino is excited to offer quality dance education for children and adults in Bloomington and its surrounding communities. Kristin has over 20 years of experience teaching dance to children, teens and adults, as well as developing programming used in MCCSC's after school care program and other teaching and performance outreach programs.

Placement: Creative Movement, Pre-Ballet, and all level 1 classes are considered entry level classes for students of appropriate age. Students advance past these levels by permission of instructor only.

Please DO NOT purchase ballet slippers from Walmart or Target due to their poor fit and quality. Shoes: Dance shoes (ballet, tap and jazz) can be purchased locally at Shoe Carnival and Once Upon a Child. Our Dancers often donate shoes they out grow to us so we can pass them down free of charge- please check at our front desk for availability.

Dancers are solely responsible for their class attendance. If a dancer misses a class that is in session, it is their responsibility to find an alternate or comparable class to take during the same semester to make-up for the missed class if they wish. If a dancer is not sure which classes are suitable, they should speak with their instructor or email the school for assistance.

Mini-MAD is for the dancer ages 9-11 with dance experience who wants more performance opportunities! Dancers should have a minimum level of Ballet 2 experience. Additional experience in Contemporary, Jazz or Lyrical Dance are also helpful but not required.

Dancers ages 9-11 (may turn 12 during the semester, if 12 by audition date should audition for MAD Co.) are required to take one Ballet class and one other class of choice (or more!) per week as well as required Saturday Rehearsals.Attendance is key! We ask that dancers attend their weekly classes regularly and miss no more than 2 rehearsals per semester.
