Charleston Hardware
Charleston Hardware takes much pride in manufacturing the most authentic reproductions possible. Antique American pieces are collected and molds and dies are painstakingly re-created from original American antique pieces. Each piece is made using the same techniques originally used over 125 years ago, and we are the only hardware company casting in the original composition of bronze.

Complete suites of each pattern have been reproduced, allowing hardware throughout the house to match. We assist building professionals and homeowners directly in the design, selection, and installation of hardware appropriate for a particular project. We offer customized hardware to fit existing antique locks and bespoke reproductions in wrought, cast, and lost wax from antique original pieces and schematics.
Services
Our mission is to preserve the historical integrity of buildings through the restoration and reproduction of original antique hardware pieces. Our museum-quality reproduction hardware is copied directly from antique hardware originals and crafted by hand using the same procedures of over a century ago.
This pattern was named Edgemont and was made originally around 1900 by Reading Hardware Co. of Reading NY. The Art Nouveau Roanoke pattern was made around 1900 by P & F Corbin of Stamford, Connecticut. This section offers decorative brass hardware that is not a part of a pattern. Doorknobs, rosettes, and back plates are offered separately.
Art deco designs first appeared on the American scene in the 1920's. Noteworthy is the lack of Victorian ornamentation and the appearance of strong architectural lines. Patterns were mass produced by stamping, making door hardware more affordable than ever for the working man. Our patterns are taken from antique originals and are stamped in solid brass and bronze.
The whimsical aesthetic of our art nouveau Avalon suite is the combination of two antique patterns: Olympia and Alby. We collected the ca 1900's antique originals and faithfully reproduce them in stamped brass just like they were made over 100 years ago. Unlacquered, each piece will acquire an antique patina with time.
This pattern was named Edgemont and was made originally around 1900 by Reading Hardware Co. of Reading NY. We remade the moulds and cast each piece one at a time in solid brass using the finest sand to capture the smallest of details. Finishing is done by hand just as it was over a century ago. Finishes: lacquered polished brass, unlacquered brass, hand antiqued brass, and antique copper.

Been buying stuff from these guys for 15 years in the slow renovation of my home. Their replicas of original patterns are hard to distinguish from the original. They are of very high quality and I believe made with the exact same techniques

Brad, the owner, has been amazing to work with! He has been excited about my project and innovative in the design process. He has been personally involved in working out the details of having some antique door knocker replicas made. I feel assured that they will be made beautifully and that Brad will make sure that the finished product is excellent. He has been so personable to work with, and I can tell he loves his business and his customers. It is his passion to help customers complete their home build/remodel project with exquisite, high quality, and even historically-accurate hardware.

I highly recommend their extensive catalogue of Eastlake Oriental style hardware as their other hardware. I have been very happy with my Oriental and Flower-style pieces. The sash lift and striker plates are period correct and match my existing Eastlake hardware. The repair and restoration services offered are also excellent.

I bought replacement hardware for an original 1964 screen door. I love the way the screen door works and latches. It’s beautiful and in keeping with the age of the house!
