All members receive a share (savings) account when they join the KEMBA. This account pays our members dividends on the money they accumulate in their share (savings) account.
KEMBA offers our members access to a checking account. Our checking accounts give you numerous ways to access your money and manage your account. In addition, we have checking accounts for members that may have been declined for a checking account at another financial institution.

Need a little help saving for the holidays or that special vacation? This account can be set up to automatically transfer money from your share (savings) account each month. This allows you to save for that special date. This account earns a competitive interest rate and can be opened with as little as $1.00.
Share Certificates allow you to earn a higher interest rate than our share (savings) account. In return for this higher interest rate, you cannot withdraw money from this account until the maturity date without incurring a penalty. We offer "share certificates" that mature in 6 months, 1 year, 2 years, 3 years, 4 years, or 5 years.

I became a member when my job changed and this was the only way to get direct deposit. I have never set foot in the main branch in Salem, VA but have been to Lynchburg. I've only ever had phone or mail contact with Salem but they are the most wonderful, helpful people! Very accommodating. I've had at least 2 loans with them and a credit card, checking and savings. They do just about any banking service. When I've had issues with tech support I just call and they walk me through it. If you have an opportunity to join, you will not regret it,
