Green Mountain Insulated Glass, Inc. is primarily a manufacturer of insulated glass (Double Pane) units for the custom, true divided lite window and door market. We produce the highest quality of small lite, narrow sightline insulated glass in the industry. We offer some of the best warranties available for insulated glass.
Green Mountain Insulated Glass, Inc. stocks many types of "mouth blown-cylinder" and "drawn" Restoration Glasses. Green Mountain Insulated Glass, Inc. routinely supplies Restoration Glass as insulated Restoration Glass units; custom laminated Restoration Glass (which is safety code compliant for doors and sidelites); and monolithic Restoration Glass in both stock sheets and lites cut to size.

Services
Green Mountain Insulated Glass fabricates insulated glass units with many different types of glasses. We offer the standard options commercially available in insulated glass from clear and low e annealed or tempered to fancy beveled and impact resistant IG units. Green Mountain Insulated Glass, Inc. stocks six or more different types of handmade "cylinder" Restoration Glass and three major types of "drawn" Restoration Glasses.
There are two basic types of insulated glass units which are fabricated at Green Mountain Insulated Glass, Inc. The first is the dual seal-silicone/PIB unit which has a much greater longevity than IG units fabricated with other types of sealants used with metal spacers. We routinely stock many choices in clear and colored anodized spacers as well as mill finish and white painted spacers.
Perhaps the Insulated Glass, "IG" That has the greatest longevity in the window manufacturing industry is the Dual Seal - Silicone/PIB unit. The PIB forms the most effective seal against moisture and the silicone has structurally the strongest and most resilient of sealant bonds. Most often glass fabricators provide an irregularly applied 1/2 sealant band or sightline.
One of the largest problems in many insulated glass windows is that of condensation around the perimeter of the IG units. The result can be premature aging and actual damage of costly finishes on high-end custom windows and even the millwork itself. This moisture can then freeze in very cold weather producing frost and even deteriorate the window further.
The normal desiccated air inside of an IG unit contains oxygen. When the glazing cavity of an IG unit is filled with an inert gas that displaces this oxygen, it is less able to allow the cold to pass through the unit by convection and conduction. Effective gases to use are Argon, Krypton, or with mixed results, a combination of the two.
